The Lord God took
Some dirt from the ground
And just like clay.
He shaped it around.
He made a man
In the image of Him
And He put breath from
Himself within.
The man became
A being with life
And God told him,
“I’ll make you a wife.
It isn’t good
That you live alone-
So, go to sleep
While I take a bone.
I’ll take a rib-
I will make you two-
I will create
A woman for you.”
When God made Eve
And brought her to man,
Adam said, “Great!”
As he took her hand.
