I am not so perfect.
I wish that I could be.
I’m haunted by ghosts of yesterday
And worry about the tomorrows I see.
Looking back at the suns that have set.
Won’t change the fact they set in the west.
Looking forward in fear of not yet
Robs me of peace and my ability to rest.
Letting go is a place I need to grow,
So the haunting will finally cease.
Giving no thought about tomorrow
Will soon provide me a sweet release.
At my age, I am not so perfect.
As now you can surely see.
Yesterday is getting harder to remember.
I forget to worry what tomorrow will be.
Getting older does have its advantages.
Time and wisdom took care of these.
I forgot to do something yesterday.
Well, maybe tomorrow; if you please!
