Prayer and the Spirit

Good morning dear saints in Christ ! Let us together declare that this is the day that the Lord has made and we shall rejoice in it !

I have been led to explore a most important subject that has tremendous relevance for these last days upon earth before our Lord returns. I hope that you will follow with me and join with me in this endeavor as you will come to see it’s place in accomplishing the will of God upon this earth. If you are so inclined perhaps you will share this with others you know as well.

The subject is one of prayer and what a great mystery it is. Pray without ceasing should become as natural and common as breathing air, my friends because prayer is not simply making a list of requests but rather it is the blessed union of our thoughts, will , emotions and the desires of our hearts with the almighty Father. We walk with Him and talk with Him and then become one with Him. We should never think that He submits to our will and our selfish ways and means and desires but rather the opposite. As we lose our all, through and through He saturates us with Himself. (As John said, “I must decrease, but He must increase”.)

Jesus was not only the perfect man and the example of the proper walk with God but also the very WAY by which we may also do likewise. It is said that He did not come to do His own will, He did not speak or do anything apart from the Father. Now then it is our turn ! We must endeavor to Abide in our Lord Jesus Christ so that we too may begin to walk as the proper man…a new creation …a god/man, for we are no longer a mere man !

What has this to do with prayer ? EVERYTHING ! It is only as we abide in Him and He in us that we ask what we will and He will do it. To abide in Him means our thoughts, our will , our emotions, our desires and all become as His ! This is the greatest mystery. One in which angels long to look and to understand.

Understand this my most blessed friends, God has purposed before the beginning of time that He would make man in His own image so as to receive of His immense glory. This is the most blessed honor in all of His creation. As such we shall be blessed above the angels of God because we have become children of God and share of His nature and glory. This is beyond our comprehension! God has foreordained that we would be made vessels of honor ! . That these vessels would be temples in which He Himself would reside !

We must realize this blessed reality that wherein God resides it is full of glory ! God has purposed that His very self (as Jesus Christ and not the Godhead) would be merged with us in our spirits ! He fashioned us in just such a special way that He might abide within our being so that we would be one with Him and yet still be a unique individual. This is a great mystery ! This is accomplished by this wonderful tripartite design. God thus dwells within our spirit, the innermost part of man. The two spirits become as ONE. Then we find that the glory of His being permeates us entirely so that His glory becomes our life’s expression ! This is the high peak of His purpose and plan for man.

I must digress at this point however because here we find a great problem in that while we are still yet in the body of death, His glory and expression are frustrated by the corruption within. Here is where we find that must facilitate His full and complete salvation which is the transformation of our hearts and soul into conformity with Christ, that His expression may be fully released and find unfettered expression in the world. It is like a light shining out from a dark place (the soul of man). As the soul is purged and purified (the removal of self will, false concepts, the world and the things of the world and etc) then the obstructions of the light are removed and the light becomes brighter and brighter as the day dawns and the morning start arises in our hearts!! Here we see more clearly what Jesus meant when He said that people rejoiced in the light of John the Baptist, but that He was the greater light Himself.

Now then back to prayer. With all this in mind we begin to see the place and relevance of prayer. We begin to see that prayer is not the expression of our individual thoughts and desires at all but rather they become the expression of the Lord who has taken residence within. Then we begin to see what it means in, “all things are FROM Him, and THROUGH Him, and TO Him.”

When we begin to walk in this blessed new walk in life, then the scripture becomes alive to us and we see as did Paul that, “it is no longer “I” who lives but Christ Jesus in me” !

You see then, that prayer becomes sure and effectual because it is not us praying for selfish, random and wild things any longer but rather it is the Christ within who is Himself praying according to His own will.

I have presented this simple overview not as an exhaustive study but as merely a glimpse into the blessed reality of prayer and it’s correlation to our walk and union with our God as a means to whet your appetite and create an inner thirst and desire for more ! Amen ?

If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
