I still remember the "hell" I experienced with unscrupulous, unethical and deceptive car salespersons 25 years ago. I vowed never to enter a car sales location again. I almost accomplished that plan until a careless driver totaled my '87 Corolla. I had just painted the vehicle, paid my auto insurance and my registration. The vehicle was running great! I'd gotten a good job and my life seemed to be greatly improving.
All that changed as my "horse" of 25 years lied wrecked in the street. From that moment on the auto body shop and the insurance companies attempted to direct my life. It literally took me 25 years to get to the present "haven" I was experiencing. There was no way in "hell" I was going back.
I had very little money. My entire family was out of town. This auto accident occurred on my little niece’s 7th birthday. Weekly taxi fares were very expensive. The driver's insurance company attempted to flamboozle me. My own auto insurance agent wasn't making any money from my plight. Thus he evaded me. In the midst of fighting 2 insurance companies I also sought car dealerships. These sales people deceptively stated one price for cars. This caused me to request a lower price of settlement from the insurance company.
Once I received that check and contacted the sales people their costs and fees greatly increased. Thanks to the lies of these car sales locations I under evaluated the cost of my settlement. Now I was really "screwed". The more auto sales location I contacted the more I received lies, games, attempted manipulations and the hatred I felt in 1987. I was under immense pressure to return the rental car supplied by the insurance company.
I remember contacting an auto salesperson by email. He immediately responded with a used auto. I did not trust this man. He seemed to eager and too helpful. Every other car salesperson had lied. Why would this person be any different? So I decided not to respond to him. I continued "burning in hell" with the lies being perpetrated by the other car salepersons. Time was running out. The insurance company wanted me to return the rental car ASAP. I'd miss much time off work and also spent time at work contacting auto related companies. I had to do something. And yes I was praying through the entire ordeal.
I decided to respond to that "eager" salesperson. I visited his lot one busy morning. I walked in the office and asked for him. He was sitting down. I identified myself and looked him in his eyes. I was expecting to see those same beedy, deceptive eyes seen in most car sales persons. Amazingly, he jumped out of his seat and began repeating exactly what I had written in my email. He walked me through the lot to 3 used vehicles. He told me how they fit what I was looking for. He told me all the pros and cons.
He stayed with in my price budget. He didn't try any games or manipulations. He let me examine the vehicle, test drive the vehicle and he answered every one of my questions. I immediately knew he actually cared. In just one second of meeting Alex Fernandez I passed on from "auto sales hell" to "auto sales heaven". I brought the car and it runs and looks great! Rob at Maaco will be doing the paint job! I'm thankful to Alex, Rob and God! My nightmare has ended!
If you ever need a used, pre-owned or new vehicle contact Alex Fernandez at Michael's Motor Car in Neptune City, New Jersey. I know from personal experience he will do his utmost to meet your concerns. Thanks Michael's Motor Car for returning full control back to me!
