Lord God we sing Your praises
In this thanksgiving year
For all Your loving kindness
Upon our country dear,
Your vigil o'er our nation
"From sea even to sea."
Lord, like a blanket covering
Your angels o'er us be.
Lord God eternal reigning
O'er this great land of ours,
We praise You for Your mercy
Which from your goodness showers:
Good government and weather,
Peace, health and honest chore.
If these were not sufficient
You yet would grant us more.
O King of all creation
Let earthly weapons fade!
You Lord, throughout the ages
Our enemies have staid.
Your Laws our Early Warning,
Your Grace our Sure Defence.
O let us ever trust You.
You Lord will recompense.
O nation blest with plenty
Come bow before the Lord.
For He is God Who grants you
By faith unearned reward.
Give honour to His sceptre.
Great God now hear our prayer:
Let us this grace and blessing
With all our neighbours share.
The Everlasting Gospel
Be preached in every land.
Our foes and all world nations
For Christ our Saviour stand.
O may all lands confess You,
Then like a "singing ball"
The earth shouts forth its praises
To You, the Lord of all.
