Sunday 10/14/12 Pastor Michael sermon= You Are Fired! Psalm 121:1-8

The TV show, the Apprentice, was created to have interviews for a job with Donald Trump. There are two teams that are to create a project. There are team leaders also. Each week, we saw the people who couldn’t handle the work on their project, get fired. The project manager would get blamed for the project’s failure and they were fired.
We cannot handle the complexities of our life. Since we don’t qualify to take care of our life, we are fired! Fired! But….we do have a person who can take care of our lives, Jehovah Jireh, The God of the Universe! He can handle it all! We are therefore FIRED!! We can’t handle or know what to do with people smiling in our face while stabbing us in the back. We can’t handle having a job one day and no job the next day. We can’t handle this so we are FIRED!!
Verse 1 = We can look to the hills from whence cometh our help! Help from God! God is in a high place so when we are in a low place, we should look up to God. God is high up and our problems look small to Him. When we get in touch with where God is and look at things the way He does, our problems are small and little!
The GPS system tells us to follow the directions to get where we want to go. GPS is a satellite way up high. It can see if there is an accident and it will lead us around it and tell us the way to go. We need to CONNECT with God, FIRE ourselves, give ourselves the PINK SLIP and call on God to lead us. God will tell us which way to go. GOD IS GREATER than our issues!! You are FIRED! I am FIRED! We are FIRED!
1) God is a Divine Helper:
He can help us at the most opportune times. God is a very present help. He will show up right in the midst of our trouble. We need to FIRE US and HIRE HIM! God will show up, get us thru it and we come out better than before! God is our helper. He helps us through what we need. We are inadequate to handle what we are facing. God can handle it!
2) God is a Divine Protector:
Verse 3-7 God won’t let our foot slip and He will keep us from falling. God protect us and spares us thru all the crazy stuff we do. We are still standing because of God! God doesn’t go to bed, doesn’t sleep or slumber. So we shouldn’t be up all night worrying about stuff. We need to answer the door and let God in so we can go to bed to sleep. God will protect us all night!! God is our security system! We are FIRED from handling our lives and God is HIRED!!
