It appears that the priestly blessing of Yahweh in Numbers chapter 6 in the Bible is designed to mount and gather strength each time it is pronounced or transmitted. In fact, the same can be said of the apostolic blessings that are found in the epistles of the New Testament of the Bible. The present day recipients of such blessings are receiving by faith all the good ever contained in the blessing from the time it was first pronounced and received down through the generations of the faithful, right up to its present use and then some. Wow! Seen in that way we can call these "cumulative blessings" that build in force and effect each time they are employed for the benefit of God's people. I never thought of them in that light before. Thinking of such blessings in that way now inspires more reverence for what is actually happening in the spiritual realm each time I give or receive one. And wherever there has been an increase in reverence there has been a corresponding increase in revelation that precipitated it. And so I give thanks.
