Lord, I sit in silence
Waiting for the fresh joy
Of your presence to wash over me.
The dark hides
My cries and my shame.
There are too many burdens
And not enough rest.
Let me crawl into your lap
Where I feel safe
Unlike here where life hurts.
You are the shelter
From the harsh realities of
Who I have become
And do not want to be.
Take away my distractions.
Lord, I am here at your feet.
I have done so much wrong.
Life without you is far from complete.
