Nothing's so simple as perception,
yet such simplicity can be lost.
Within the confines of sin's insurrection,
a certain sight loses with cost.
One may be looking through tainted windows,
yet not see how they're soiled.
They may make choices, leading to sorrows
with “good” intentions seeming unspoiled.
The Truth is hindered by imperfection;
the straight and narrow is actually wide.
The eyes of the soul suffer infection
light with guidance must come alongside.
This is the home of the fearful;
there's no peace for these souls.
Their loves are so painfully tearful
their bag of riches are full of holes.
Clean the window with some pure water;
aim toward the light to let it pour in.
Grace may come; it has to offer
salve for the soul begrudged by sin.
Then one can perceive Truth undaunted;
one can see where to place his foot.
He will desire what Christ has wanted
his eye will discern between bad and good.
