I’m sitting on my front porch on this afternoon.
Reflecting on my life on this day.
There’s little in this lifetime that we can call free.
But sitting on my swing, this is what I see.
God’s great creation and all that He brings.
Birds singing softly while perched on a limb. Squirrels playing in and out of trees.
Flowers blooming in my front yard of every color shape and size.
Fruit growing on the vine, food on the table that you have supplied.
Sunshine and blue skies, clouds floating slowly by.
Rain for the farmers, flowers and trees.
Life here on my front porch moves a bit slowly as the sun goes down.
Reflecting the colors of red, yellow and orange.
As I know tomorrow will bring much the same.
So as I sit on my front porch and watch this life go by.
I think of those who have entered and have gone.
God, you’ve given me so much, you’ve blessed my life this day.
As I sit on my front porch swing away.
God I thank thee daily for the places that I’ve seen.
Spring in the Mountains, snow on the ground, waves on the oceans, golden wheat swaying gently on the breeze.
But mostly Lord I thank thee for bringing me back home.
For sitting on my front porch is where I most want to be.
You have given me friends too numerous to count.
Family that’s seen its ups and downs. Yet here we still are together on this fine day, which you have made.
Sitting on my front porch swinging away.
