9 Days A Week
There are 9 days we worry about each and every week.
I’ve listed them all; let us take a peek.
Monday is a new day; a new week does begin.
It is dreaded and hated; to get up and start again.
Tuesday does follow; one day is gone at last.
Well under way is the new week and not very fast.
Wednesday is next meaning it’s halfway till we rest.
Two days are before us and two days are long past.
Thursday is a reminder we are nearing the end.
It gives us hope we will make it once again.
Friday is the last of the work days.
We thank God it has finally come.
Our minds are on the next day,
Though not very quickly for some.
Saturday is a free day to get out in the sun,
For some it’s just a day to get things done.
Sunday is still the Lord’s day,
To worship and praise His name.
Though to many it’s just another free day,
To rest, watch a game, and have more fun.
All quite familiar these 7 days are,
But the 2 days left cause more worry by far.
Yesterday consumes us with too many doubts.
Its failures make us question what’s it all about.
Tomorrow we fear as its outcome is not clear.
Our worry and dread brings only a spirit of fear.
What happened yesterday and fear for tomorrow,
They bring us much shame and much sorrow.
In these two eternities, no control can we cast.
Yesterday has past and tomorrow won’t last.
Letting go of them both will free us for today.
Worry should be kept to this one very day.
