I always have a good intention,
When I walk into my kitchen-
I always know what I’ve come to eat,
But I somehow end up in defeat.
Food that isn’t even in sight
Begins to test my will and might-
Cupboard doors that are tightly shut
Mysteriously open up.
Food that I do not want to waste
Beckons to me to have a taste-
Food that I forgot was there
Seems to fill my cupboards everywhere.
Before I know what’s happening to me,
I start to eat what I see-
My intention to eat just a bite
Goes for “all” the food in sight.
I know what I must start to do
To help my intention stay true-
I must keep “only” the foods I should-
Foods that say, “Intention be good”!
