Now that I’m Gone
By Janice Ramkissoon

Dear son, Love never dies; it never comes to an end.
God promised He’ll never leave you nor forsake you.
This promise you’ll find in Hebrews 13:5.
So in your time of grief, hold on to God’s truth.
No longer will you hear my voice—
Offering advice, like a mother who cares.
And though absent in body,
Memories will always linger near.
I know there’s a void, now that I’m gone.
But take courage my son! You’ve got all you need:
Jehovah Jireh—He’ll provide for you.
Claim your victory, do not accept defeat.
There are many things you’ll remember,
Being taught to you as a youth:
Now as an adult, it’s your responsibility,
To search and hold on to the truth.
You were taught that Jesus is your friend,
On Him you can depend, so, in His word dwell;
Where you will find all the advice you’ll need,
Son, there’s none like Jesus—you have been taught well.
So run to Him my son,
His promises are true.
In times of grief and sorrow,
He promised to comfort you.
Each time you think of your dear Mom,
May happy memories fill your heart.
I leave you a message from your heavenly Father:
“Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.”
You’ll find this in Proverbs 4:4. Let it not depart from your heart.
This was specially written for my friend to read at the funeral of her husband's mother. I felt led to share it with you today, knowing someone may be in need of those words of encouragement. Be encouraged.

Thank you guys for the encouragement. I'm not online as often as I would like to be but will touch base with you soon. Have a blessed week. Praying for your strength also Daniel. Just remember that He will not give us more than we can bear. God bless!
Read it like my son, Jim-Jif, wrote that to his dad. Fond memories of a wonderful son. Too painful to let go, but the Comforter is near working round the clock to comfort. Thanks, Janice, for sharing this. Yes, I needed it.
Life after death shall surely be a sweet transition if we will but cling to our precious Jesus who is the everlasting Way to peace and life eternal. Thank you for your gentle words of encouragement to a grieving heart, Jan.
