I understand just how you feel
Seeing church's that seem unreal
Watching believers with lives astray
For their evil deeds they do not pay
With religion you say your through
To help you to know what can I do
I pray the Lord will show you how
To seek His will on knees to bow
If you every change your mind
Just turn to Him and you will find
By your faith just make your plea
His free grace will set you free
Of your life He'll take command
Of His love you'll know firsthand
Remember, life can be so short
Don't allow the evil one to distort
To the Savior come without delay
You are not promised another day
I understand just how you feel
Evil misleads but the gospel is real
I understand just how you feel
In the Saviors love your life will seal
Do you ever feel "not saved". In this topsy-turvy world, that's very easy to do.( Acts 14:15-18 ) ( 1 Peter 2:22,24 )Just getting up, and having to face another day, sometimes just seems to take it all out of us. ( 2 Timothy 2:13 )
My beloved, you are not alone. Many people experience doubt about their salvation. Often times, it's due to lack of faith.( Hebrews 11:1 ) Other times it may be lack of scripture knowledge. ( 2 Cor 13:5 )
However, there is great satisfaction in knowing that our sins have been washed away by the atoning work of the cross. ( 1 John 1:7 ) ( Isaiah 1:18 ) You see, if you were truthful, in coming to the Father, you have been saved. ( Romans 10:13 ) ( Matthew 6:33 )
Many times we tend to live our lives no differently than do the traditional unbelievers. Oh, we may attend church every week but we all may watch the same TV channels, listen to the same hard-rock music, tell the same off-color jokes, and keep the same company. Thus, the old cliché, "not of this world" is only a speculation.( Romans 7: 14-25 )However, the scripture has something to say about this type behavior. ( Romans 12:2 )
Yes, people do battle with the assurance of their salvation. This is probably, due in part, because people are focusing on themselves, ( Matt 6:33 ) rather than the redemptive work of the cross We are not saved by that which we have done, or the money we have paid the church or because of a godly family member. ( Ephesians 2:8-9) Our salvation is strictly of God. ( Acts 16:31) ( Romans 6:1-7 ) ( Galatians 2:20 )
Simply put, it's all a matter of the "old time religion". In other words, the "full gospel". ( 1 Cor 15:3-4 ) ( 1 John 3:16 )
( Hebrews 7:24-25 )
