If you are reading this it is for a purpose.
Consider how many professing Christians go to church every Sunday without their Bibles because aferall there is a Bible in the pew. You need not worry about taking your own Bible, if indeed you have one because you say to yourself there is a Bible in the pew. That's one less thing, you say to yourself, that you have to carry around and risk losing. There is a Bible in the pew. But consider this: Would any law student go to school without his law book or manual in which to study and to follow along with as the teacher leads? Of course not.
Would a music student go to class with out his music lecture notes or his book of scales to master and increase his manual dexterity or his repertoire of pieces to be performed? Does he have it all memorized in his head? Of course not. The teacher would think you were negligent or even lazy and yet how many people that call themselves Christians will go to church on any given Sunday without taking their Bibles because there is a Bible in the pew.
Is this not slothfulness and laziness? Is not their own personal Bible of much greater worth in that they should have it underlined and marked and they should know well their own Bible but they will leave their own Bible at home and go to church to use a Bible that they are not as familiar with.
