He asked me the one question,
The one we ask when we grow old,
When we look back on our life,
And question the value of our toil.
"How does God measure a man,
How does He measure the value of his toil.
Is it the length of the life he has lived,
Or the depth he has invested his soul".
I stopped and thought for a moment,
To listen to what God had to say.
He spoke to me in a still small voice,
And taught me what to say.
It is not the measure of the man,
The value of his life's toil.
The deeds in life he may have done,
Or the charity of his soul.
Nothing of value can a man offer,
Can influence God on Judgement Day.
The only thing that affects his judgement,
Is the price Jesus had to pay.
The cross is the final Judgement,
The price Jesus had to pay.
For us to gain eternity,
Jesus paid it all on that Judgement Day.
