Here's a letter I wrote to a consultant named Mike Rounds on July 19, 1999 (still had WebTV...no computer as of yet) who put on a small workshop which I attended many years ago when living in Hollywood. I was studying marketing and wanted to get into public speaking/or marketing of information products.
By tomorrow you should have received a money order for $50.00. Hope this helps. Sorry I couldn't make the conference call the other night but I was out promoting a special event with a guy who is very interested in Final Wave and the digital cell phone opportunity. This guy can get me in to some major Hollywood parties where networking is the creme de le creme. Here is a brief bio of myself. Nothing to brag about but if it can help sell this business opportunity and establish some credibility among my peers, i. e., people in the entertainment business then please feel free to use it and/or edit it to fit the website.
I earned my A. A. degree at San Joaquin Delta Junior College and my real estate certificate in 1980. I was a communications major at UOP, the University of the Pacific, and attended UOP from 1986-87 in Stockton, Ca until my great grandmother had a stroke. I left my studies to take financial responsibility and tend to personal business. At UOP I placed second and third in inter-collegiate speech contests for impromptu and extemporaneous speech tournaments. I was also on the lectures committee and introduced guest speakers as well as wrote articles for the college newspaper.
From 1986-88 I joined the early morning risers Toastmaster's Club- a club dedicated to developing public speaking skills.
In 1988 shortly after leaving college I started a junk hauling business. It seems I had tried just about every kind of job in town. Nothing seemed to hold my interest for long. It was through this business that I learned much about practical small business skills and interacting with people. The hauling business expanded in to tree cutting and some demolition work.
My greatest success came in 1996 just before moving to Hollywood to pursue an acting career. I spotted a massive tomato spill off Charter Way and I-5. I thoughy this would be a nice money making job but I only had one problem a van so small it
would have held just a fraction of all the rotten smashed tomatoes so I called a competitor friend of mine and worked out a deal since he had a large dump truck. I contacted the owner of the trucking company and gave him a quote which was less than Cal Trans would have bid and was quickly told I had the job. I earned $2,300.00 for just putting this deal together-a total of about three hours work. When I got to Hollywood I was pretty broke but I knew a $2,300 check would be in the main soon.
My first exposure to MLM was with the Amway Corporation in 1978. Since then I have seen dozens of various MLM opportunities and believe that Final Wave offers one of the best in the telecommunications field. It's a service that can save the average phone user hundreds if not thousands of dollars a year in addition to earning a substantial residual income if one applies some simple basic principles of marketing.
Marketing and Sales Experience
I've sold everything from Electrolux vacuum cleaners (I actually won a sales contest and got my name published in the 1980 Olympic edition of TV Guide) to satellite TV's to magazine advertising to used cars and more. It wasn't until I read and listened to some material by marketing genius Jay Abraham and Dan Kennedy that I really began to understand the fundamentals of marketing. As a result of this exposure to such keen insight I continue to learn and grow as a serious student of marketing and continue to learn more and more about how to get more customers and generate greater sales volume through unique marketing methods that are highly effective yet virtually unknown by most business owners. With Final Wave my business philosophy is simple. Since communication is something we do every day, why not get paid well for it and have fun doing it. Sharing the experience with others is enjoyable and adds value to other people's lives.
