THE SEED OF THE GAY LIFE
Freelance writer Lupie Riley
My plea for those who read this article is to have an open mind and a non-judgmental attitude. Please don't label me as a homophobic or hate monger. I am neither. What I am is a 70 year old grandmother of nine grandchildren and a recent great grandchild. By taking advantage of free speech that we might not have in the near future I would like to share my thoughts on the gay movement, a very sensitive topic at that. Drawing from the places I've been, people I've known and decision I've made, this is where I find myself in today’s world. You have the freedom as a reader to reject these thoughts and move on or take them to heart.
Nine of my grandchildren are of the age where they must make decisions for themselves everyday. These are just a few of the questions they are faced with. "Should I get a tattoo, body piercings, have sex, drink alcohol, smoke pot, take drugs, tell a lie, watch pornography or have a same sex relationship?" The pressure to do these things is tremendous along with the feeling of fitting in and being accepted by their peers. This causes extreme anxiety in todays young people but sad to say a parents solution to their ADHD kids is more drugs. Parents, you need to step up to the plate and be that role model, counselor and comforter that your child needs.
What helps them make right decisions that are good for them? Has a strong foundation been built since birth? Is it on solid ground or shaky sand? Are they growing up in an environment of love and commitment or hate and strife? Do they have boundaries and rules or is it a free for all? Are there moral and spiritual values that they can draw from or is it a Godless home. Building a strong foundation for them is the seed that forms a solid life. The seed for the gay is the foundation their life was built on.
During my childhood I had parents who took their vows seriously. Wendell (my husband of 52 years) grew up with parents that made it to 57 years marriage before their passing. Thousands of children since have not had this comparison. They come from a home full of hate, strife, sexual or physical abuse, void of moral values, love and acceptance. They have nothing to draw from except the world’s standards found in music idols, sports idols, video games, friends and Hollywood. I've known many children that have come out of homes like this who never knew what love and security was all about. They grew into adults and tried to create a utopian world for themselves even if it meant for some going into a same sex relationship. If a survey was taken today I can assure you that a huge number of gay men and women have come from this kind of background. Those from broken homes with no rules or boundaries, no moral values, abuse, violence and an absence of loving, caring parental role models are most vulnerable.
I counseled a young teen that had been continually raped by two older boys at a very early age. He was robbed of his innocence in a brutal way and was introduced into the gay world with a constant battle of the right and wrongs of this life in his conscience mind. The bible says that the truth about God is known instinctively--God has put this knowledge in our hearts (conscience). Rom. 1:18-20
When an individual participates in this type of life style many times they tuck that God conscience away where it can't convict and fill them with guilt. This results in a complete denial of a Creator God. They become agnostics or adhere to a spiritual movement that supports their behavior. The repercussions for the homosexual leads it's participant down a dark spiritual path of separation from God and often times death from disease. Our Creator God never intended men to lie with men and women to lust after each other but the God of this world (Satan) has polluted what God had made good. The sex act and climax is the ultimate of any emotional and physical experience a human being can have. Satan made it into something that leads a person to life without God.
We were created with needs. Those needs are to be loved, wanted and a part of a family. When these needs are not fulfilled we are left with a void, a hole in our heart. Seeking to fill that void we humans create our own value system choosing to set our own path. With a shaky, sandy, Godless foundation and absentee parents the only way to distinguish right and wrong, good or bad, black and white is to draw from Society. Teachers and professors under-estimate the influence they have on the hungry, vulnerable young minds that are in this gray area. If they’re not careful they can lead them down the path that leads to both...spiritual and physical death (disease, drugs or suicide.)
For those of you who are caught up in the gay life and have never had the opportunity to compare what a life of love, acceptance and security is, my heart goes out to you. The gay life leaves a person no other choice but to deny the God that sets the rules. In doing so they also reject His Word. There is another way to find fulfillment. We need to understand that our Spirits are immortal and there are only two places for its destination Heaven or Hell. The choice is ours to make. God intended us to be happy and He's given us all the instructions we need to live our life to the fullest. But if we reject His instruction we suffer the consequence. He loves you (John 3:16) and wants the best for you. He's the Father you might have never had and He will always be there for you. He's your closest friend and brother...He is all these things to you if you cross over in faith and become one of his very own children...a child of the coming King (Jesus). When you are in God's family you are royalty. Invite Him into your life today and begin a new chapter of love, forgiveness, freedom (from guilt), family and eternal life with God.
