Dry your tears for this poor soul,
at rest, asleep in peace.
Lying here in this dark hole,
a grave I have on lease.
Ií ve paid my dues, Iíve run the race,
the battle of life Iíve won.
I lie asleep in Christís good grace,
waiting for Him to come.
How long Iíll wait, I do not know,
but of this I am quite sure.
One day Heíll come and call me out
to a life thatís new and pure.
When the trumpet blows and moves the earth
a new body Iíll be given.
Thereíll be no tears, no pain, no death
on the new Earth where Iím living.
So in this dark hole there is a light
shining forth from selfless sacrifice
By one who killed eternal night
our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
