America has faced many natural and man-made disasters in the history of the nation. However, it seems that in 2012 Americans have had to face a drastic increase in such disasters. As a result, it has become almost unbearable for Americans to cope with these tragedies. Therefore, many Americans have sought an escape mechanism to help them to distance themselves from these events, since it was not their fault, but an act of nature or a deranged person. Ultimately, they have chosen to figuratively wear blinders, just like the blinders that horses wear to keep them from seeing to the rear and many times to the side, also. By doing so, they can avoid accepting the truth of what has happened in the past and the rationale for it happening. But, Americans need to remove these figurative blinders and finally accept the truth of the matter: God is angry at America as a nation and as a stubborn, stiff-necked, and rebellious people.
Many of America’s postmodern day ministers have preached to America’s populace that God has only one side and they unfortunately have bought into it. As a result, Americans see God as a God of Love and not of judgment. But, God is a God of Judgment, too. But, since Americans have worn figurative blinders for so long, they cannot see the absolute truth about God. Truly, He is a long suffering God, but, at some point in time, He will bring judgment on a nation collectively and individually as a recompense for sin. Hence, Americans need to stop looking backward at the past. Instead, they need to look forward and see that God’s Judgment is already evident in America; just read all the news stories about the disasters and tragedies that have occurred this year in America. In fact, it is reminiscent of the plagues in ancient Egypt when Pharaoh, the leader of the nation, worshipped idols and turned his back on the true and living God. The ten plagues were:
*Changing Water to Blood, Exodus 7:19
*Frogs, Exodus 8:2-4
*Lice, Exodus 8:16
*Flies, Exodus 8:21
*Livestock Diseased, Exodus 9:3
*Boils, Exodus 9:8-9
*Hail, Exodus 9:18
*Locusts, Exodus 10:4-5
*Darkness, Exodus 10: 21-22
*Death of First Born Male, Exodus 11:4-5
Of course, most people would say that these plagues never happened or if they did it was from a natural occurrence instead of by the hand of God who was angry with Pharaoh and the Egyptians for their sins against Him and His chosen people, the Hebrews. But,
according to God’s Holy and Divine Words that are contained in the Bible, it did happen. Therefore, since it did happen, then Americans should be mindful that it could happen again and, as seen in current state of affairs in America, it possibly is happening.
Ultimately, there are two questions that need to be answered. First, why is God angry with America? As Elizabeth Barrett Browning stated in her famous Sonnet 43, the second part of the first sentence, “Let me count the ways.” First, the vicious and calculated abortion of new born babies has grieved and angered God for at least forty years. The blood of these little creations of God has cried out unto Him from the butchering rooms of bright shining hospitals and clinics throughout the United States with the government’s blessing. Secondly, the acceptance of the homosexual agenda of same-sex marriages and homosexuals serving in the military by the United States government has defied the Holy Bible and God’s opinion of homosexuality. As a result, based on the natural and manmade tragedies that have happened and are happening now, God has spoken loudly from His Throne Room saying enough is enough. Of course, God’ present-day judgment is much different than the plagues of ancient Egypt, but His new plagues are more suited for postmodern America.
As stated, the reason for God’s anger toward America is obvious. But, most Americans would not accept that the current problems in America are plagues from God, but most likely they are happenstance. However, it is time for Americans to see the big picture; God is angry at America for its sin and, as a result, America must face the consequences or plagues for its sin of idolatry and total rebellion against Him. Therefore, let’s look at ten possible modern-day plagues that God might have sent to America to get it to ultimately repent of all its sins and transgressions against God.
Plague 1: Natural Disasters: Tornado, Hurricane, Earthquake, Floods, Wildfires, etc. According to a British government report of March 2011, “scientists believe recent natural disasters were not an aberration, but “the beginnings of a new kind of future in which mega-disasters are going to be more frequent. The scale, frequency and severity of rapid onset humanitarian disasters will continue to grow in the coming years, and at an accelerating pace,” said the report issued by the International Development ministry. But, the Bible states in Ecclesiastes 3:1 a possible reason for the increase in natural disasters. It states, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Also, as cross-referenced in Ecclesiastes 3:17, King Solomon wrote, “I thought in my heart, “God will bring to judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed.” Could this actually be the rationale for the increase of natural disasters rather than climate change or man-made activities? Could it just be God’s judgment on mankind for their rebellion against Him? Time will tell!
Plague 2: Drought and Famine: The extreme heat wave throughout the United States has caused the destruction of many food crops, especially in the Midwest. It has also brought drought to many areas of the United States. As a result, there could be food shortages, which would definitely raise the price of food products. Of course, if these conditions continue for a long period of time and over a large portion of the United States, it could possibly mean some level of famine in the nation that proudly feeds 3/4 of the world. Also, if a continued drought were to persist in the United States, the water supply to sustain Americans would decrease substantially. This would cause a myriad of survival problems, especially since those in the know have already determined that after 2015 wars would be fought over water rather than oil. According to Huffington Post in an article posted in March 2012,
Drought, floods and a lack of fresh water may cause significant global instability and conflict in the coming decades, as developing countries scramble to meet demand from exploding populations while dealing with the effects of climate change, U.S. intelligence agencies said in a report Thursday. An assessment reflecting the joint judgment of federal intelligence agencies says the risk of water issues causing wars in the next 10 years is minimal even as they create tensions within and between states and threaten to disrupt national and global food markets. But beyond 2022, it says the use of water as a weapon of war or a tool of terrorism will become more likely, particularly in South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. Therefore, since food and water are necessary for the survival of mankind, could God be suggesting that America turns from its strange gods and return to Him before His judgment becomes too unbearable to live.
However, even though many scientists would say that the climate change problem in the world today has been caused by global warming, there might just be another rationale for climate change and global warming. Since God created the universe and controls the universe to this day, just maybe the change in climate conditions around the world could be by the “Invisible Hand” of God warming up the earth for the purpose of getting the attention of postmodern man.
Plague 3: Bankrupt Economy: There is one thing that both political parties do rather well. They both enjoy spending the American taxpayers’ money, but the Democratic Party usually spends much more when they are in control of the federal government’s purse strings. Therefore, both parties are responsible for America’s economic bankruptcy that is just around the corner. However, the current administration continues to blame former President Bush for America’s economic woes. In fact, in one of his presidential campaign commercials, he specifically states that the “trickle down” of money from the rich to the poor, which was Bush’s economic plan, does not work. But, since President Barack Obama’s economic plan involves governmental stimulus packages that is responsible for spending more in three years than President Bush’s administration spent in eight years, he should finally quit blaming President Bush and accept the blame,
especially since America has to borrow money from our enemies to fund current and future governmental programs. As a result, every one knows that it leads to bankruptcy when you pay more out than you bring in.
Needless to say, this has not stopped the current administration’s program of spend, spend, and spend in order to redistribute the wealth. Of course, it is this socialist policy of redistribution of wealth that is destroying America’s capitalistic, market economy. By taking from the rich and the middle class, more and more jobs are being eliminated. Since it takes tax revenue to finance a nation’s budget, the citizens must have taxable income. The more people unemployed mean less money coming into the federal coffers. The less money in federal coffers means less money to keep the government in operation. Then the government must continue to borrow money, as discussed earlier. Ultimately, the federal government becomes responsible for its own economic demise. This is the woeful predicament that the United States is in today. In fact, President Obama’s campaign slogan, “Forward,” best describes what he envisions doing if he is reelected. He will go forward with his plan to turn America into a socialist nation that will die economically.
However, it should be noted that, according to Deuteronomy 8:18, it is the Lord God that gives a person or a nation the ability to make wealth. It is a blessing from God who loves His Creation. But, when a person or a nation rebels against God, He has the ability to stay the wealth of a person or a nation. Therefore, this might just be the rationale for America’s economic problems today. Sixty years ago, practically all nations depended on loans from the United States to survive. Now, it is the exact opposite, since America has to borrow on a regular basis. But, worst of all, the United States has to borrow money to give away to other nations who need our financial assistance. Of course, it makes no sense to borrow money to give to other nations when America is on the verge of economic collapse. Could it be that God has put blinders on America’s leaders so that they do not see the error of their current economic decisions? Could it be that God has put blinders on American citizens that have prevented them from seeing that America’s current leaders are determined to bring America down from within to its knees economically so that Americans will have to beg their government for a bowl of porridge to sustain them? In fact, is there a better way to get a rebellious people to return to God than to take money out of their wallet and food out of their stomach and put them into subjection to their government at the same time?
