I use to love writing letters but since the invention of the computer and email I can't recall the last time I wrote a handwritten letter. If I had access to my old emails I could come up with dozens and dozens of emails than I saved and filed in my folders because they were written about a doctrinal matter pertaining to the Christian faith or something else I found of merit.
The following is perhaps one of my first letters written when I was just seven years old and living with my Great Grandmother Iva Lois Northington in Stockton, California. She saved miscellaneous pieces of my school work including art and written communication. I was surprised to have found this particular letter in an old suitcase a few days ago along with many others written to several friends and also many letter from my mother and great grandmother and friends. I shall post some of these in due time for the benefit of family and friends.
As you will discover my English was terrible. I didn't have a good education growing up with my Great Grandmother. In fact I doubt that I did much of my assigned homework and as a result I almost flunked third grade. It was only after I moved with my aunt and uncle that my grades improved including my writing.
(I'm not sure why I wrote these particular letters of the alphabet)
