The Crossbow of Sin

A crossbow, what is that? A crossbow is where we submit and stoop down to sin at the intersection of right and wrong. We surrender our mind, body, soul, or spirit to another force other than God. After sin has presented itself to us we mingle with it awhile; allowing it to mix with our faith and cause confusion in our mind until we bow or yield to the desire to act on it. At the intersection of righteousness and sin we come to making a choice. We choose right at the crossbow of sin to do or not to do. Will we be justified or condemned; itís our choice. The wrong choices we make bring the Christian to a state of spiritual bondage and soon everybody is going to know it for it shall be revealed..

Matthew 10:26 fear them not therefore; for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and his that shall not be known.

John 8:31-35 if ye continue in my Word then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Verily, verily I say unto you, whosoever commiteth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house forever; but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

John 3:20 for every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

We are at the crossbow of life, do we stay with God or do we turn our lives over to Satan? Why would a man married to a woman, have a wonderful wife, loving God, called a Prophet turn their life over to the abominable damnation of sin? How did they sever the ties they had with God to turn them self over to do those things that they know God calls an abomination? What changed their confession? What happened to the fear of God they once had? Luke 12:5 but I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear; Fear him which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Jesus cautions and advises us that we should fear and reverence God in our doings. Our actions should reflect that of Holiness and Virtue. We have been informed of our ways and it is up to us to take the Word and hide it in our hearts that we sin not against God.

Out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, and blasphemies that defile a man. We worry about the wrong things. This man a called, anointed prophet was married; left his wife and submitted himself to a man. The man was the wifeís cousin and married to another man. Even in wrong they both cheated and the relationship was out of order. One day they fell out because the cousin suddenly did not want the woman around; for he had such guilt. The two of them worked that which is an abomination to God. After the husband left and was trying to get the woman back he called her on the telephone.

Unbeknown to him she was leery of his actions and listened as he spoke untruths to her. She being a Christian had a choice to be mean, hang up, or say something that would hurt him, decided to leave it in Godís hand. When he thought he had hung the telephone up he and his other lover; another man began to make love. The wife heard he and his supposedly chess partner in the act. How horrified she was to know that his work as he called it on the streets was that of a male prostitute. When he had finished she heard the cry come from his of satisfaction that she had heard so many times herself. He chose sin over righteousness; now comes the judgment. We all will be punished for sin; at the crossbow of sin what will you do?

God will make all things new in our lives when we come to Him. He knows we have to learn as a new babe in Christ and that we must grow. A baby that first began to walk stumble and fall sometime but along that road they began to walk and not fall. This is called growth; the baby made the choice not to give up, but keep getting up. He began to seek out the right elements that will help him along the way. We too are to seek for those things that please God in our walk no matter how painful or inconvenient they may be. Matthew 6:33 but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. What things? What Jesus was talking about is the spiritual things that edify manís soul to bring them back to God once again.

If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things are done away with, old habits is laid to rest. We have to be born again of water and of the Spirit and if we are not we cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. Our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees of Jesusí day. If God has saved us, we must endure all the way to the end. A good man out of the treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings for that which is evil. A new creature in Christ crucifies the old mind and heart. When sin began to interact in our minds at the crossbow of our hearts remember how God did deliver us out of the bondages of sin and desire not to go back to where we came from.

God will bring all things together for them that love him. Because someone else steps out of the confines of God donít mean it is okay for us to retaliate and do the same thing. No one else will answer for you and all excuses for sin are gone. Sin was killed at the Cross of Jesus Christ and death no longer has a sting to it. Although we were created never to die, sin crept its ugly head in and brought forth death to the soul of man through disobedience. Jesus brought man new to the Father and gave us a choice again to do right. We let go of the past and press forward into the future. It is up to man to do that which pleases God individually. There comes responsibility with this new found walk of righteousness. We are accountable for what we know. When we know to do good and do it not it is accounted to us as sin. We are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor wherewith shall it be salted; it is good for nothing. We should have salt in us and have peace one with another. At the crossbow of sin, remember what it took for us to be salted!

God meets the need of all people, pure and impure, clean and unclean, just and unjust, righteous and unrighteousness because He is God. It is He that has made us and not we ourselves. Because of his own faithfulness to His Creation he provides and take care all people. Does that mean we have a first class ticket to Heaven? No. It means God loves us and we should desire to love Him back and want to go where He is. We desire to come into the presence of the one that has made every crooked way straight. Jesus told us as He is telling his disciples in Matthew 10:28 and fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Just as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. Christ will send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity and shall cast them into a furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. They will come forth and sever the wicked from among the just and in hell will they lift up their eyes. Jesus said that we should not marvel at this in St. John 5:28-29 that the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. There is punishment for sin.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Who else would sacrifice their son for you? Jesus came not to condemn us but that we might be saved. He that hears the Word, accepts Jesus, and receives the continuator of the work; the Holy Ghost also receives light in their lives. The question is do we want light to come and overshadow the darkness in our lives? Today we are at the crossbow of sin and a decision need to be made. Tomorrow is not promised; in the day you hear my voice harden not your heart. Jesus wants to make us free from sin and death. At the crossbow of sin is life and that more abundant. God will sanctify us through his truth; his Word is truth.

Itís time we put some new wine in new bottles. Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. This is a problem, when we come to the intersection where we are to let go of the past it is a struggle because of the flesh involved. That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. The Spirit penetrates the flesh not the flesh the Spirit. When the Spirit comes and convicts us we must surrender the sin and be set free. God through Christ Jesus has given us power over the flesh through the Holy Ghost; that we all should have eternal life. The Spirit of Truth is here; He will guide us into all truth; we have a comforter today waiting on us to accept His help. He will bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever He have heard and will show us all things to come.

We admonish you today that we donít be found on the outside of Christ. Take Him to be your Savior and Lord. Think about it, do you want to be justified or condemned? Do you want to continue to have a mouth full of cursing and deceit and fraud under your tongue making mischief and living in vanity? Put away the foolishness today; come to Jesus. The wise will hear and submit but fools are perverse, full of foolishness and a breach in the Spirit. If you want to be prudent and sweet, Christ will fill your cups with water that is never ending, a wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. Come, seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.

He is here today to cross us over from sin to righteousness. No more intersecting with being lukewarm; you can be hot or cold and God will help you. If you are cold he can make you hot.
