7 Dimensions of the Holy Spirit
Hi, I’m glad I’m back to continue to share God’s Word with Faith-writers. I would like to share that the reason for a lapse in my writing is due to troubles popping up on every corner. You see, the enemy doesn’t want the TRUTH published or shared. So he attacks you by other means if he cannot get you personally.
My mom received a poorly conducted operation for Gall Stones that turned into 3 operations to rectify the problem. At work I got passed over for promotion by insecure management personnel who labeled me as being too arrogant for the position. Lastly, I’m plagued by bedbugs out of nowhere daily staying up to 3-4am trying my best to thoroughly clean and use the best treatments.
The month of August and the first week of September, was indeed very challenging for me. I shared all this to point out why I’m not writing more frequently. Also, to point out that when we serve God the enemy will make it difficult every step of the way. However, the blessing that came thru these trials was more revelation about the Holy Spirit and how He works in our lives.
My mom is better, the bedbugs are gone, and the management personnel--well they received a dose of embarrassment because they failed to have their lives in order and realized that they fell short in their managerial responsibilities. They avoid me like a plague and hope they don’t lose their jobs. Life is so strange.
7 Dimensions or Sevenfold Manifestations
When the Prophet Isaiah predicted that the Messiah (Jesus Christ) would come from the lineage of Jesse (David’s father) (See, Isaiah Chapter 11). He pointed out something truly amazing about the Holy Spirit’s operation in the life of Jesus when He comes on the earth born of a virgin. Isaiah mentioned 7 things about the Holy Spirit that we need to take a closer look at;
1. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, (Isa. 11:2 NKJV)
2. The Spirit of Wisdom
3. And Understanding
4. The Spirit of Counsel
5. And Might
6. The Spirit of Knowledge
7. And of the fear of the Lord
These are the 7 Dimensions of the operation of the Holy Spirit in the life of Jesus Christ when He walked on the earth.
What we have?
The same Holy Spirit that was in Jesus Christ is the same Holy Spirit that’s in us today. The biblical reality of us learning to come to the TRUTH of this verse and it being a spiritual reality in our lives today is what God desires for me to teach. We need to understand that Jesus mentioned that we will do the very works that He did and greater works because the Father is in Him and He is on His way to the Father and He will pray that the Father sends us another HELPER—The Spirit of Truth (See, John 14:9-26 NKJV).
We know all this already happened and I was led to teach at length about the Greater Works Concept. However, what the Holy Spirit revealed to me was that I need to explain the actual WORKINGS or DIMENSIONS we need to look into and develop in our relationship to Him to be sensitive to grow in these 7 areas.
The Spirit of Wisdom
Let me clarify that this is not a spiritual gift (the word of wisdom) that Paul outlined in (1 Corinthians 12:8 NKJV). The Spirit of Wisdom--is the Holy Spirit and the Wisdom He imparts or shares with us as a HELPER to allow us to live a godly life of Wisdom on earth doing God’s will.
Now, the difference between the gift mentioned by Paul and the Spirit of Wisdom mentioned by Isaiah is clear by what they both said. Isaiah said The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him (Jesus). John the Baptist saw the Holy Spirit come down from heaven and remain (REST) upon Jesus (John 1:32-33 NKJV). When we are Born-again and Baptized in the Holy Spirit we have the Holy Spirit resting or remaining on us as well.
The Spirit Gift of the Word of Wisdom
Paul said the Spirit works all these things distributing to each one individually as He wills (1 Corinthians 12:11 NKJV).The word of wisdom operates on the life of a Prophet mostly in scripture along with the word of Knowledge with the gift of Prophecy. It has a future tense of what God reveals and will carry out in the future. God can give us a dream or vision and a word of wisdom in the dream or vision as to what will happen this is how God usually manifests this gift through the Holy Spirit. However, we should not confuse it with The Spirit of Wisdom Himself (The Holy Spirit) who will impart and share God’s Wisdom with us on a daily basis.
The Old Testament Example
When God came to Solomon in a dream He asked Solomon what he wanted. We know that Solomon requested Wisdom to rule God’s people because he was young and inexperienced as a king. God was pleased with his request and granted Solomon more than WISDOM—God also gave him riches and divine protection from all other nations (1 Kings 3:3-15 NKJV).
Right after this supernatural encounter with God through a dream we read about how God manifested His Divine WISDOM in Solomon by way of a difficult court case between two harlots (Prostitutes) they both had a child. One rowed over the child while she was asleep and crushes the baby to death, so she places the dead child in the other bed and took the other harlots child who’s alive and asleep to her bed and in the morning the drama started. So they take it to Solomon.
After hearing the drama the WISDOM of God kicked in and Solomon said alright bring me a sword and bring me the baby so I may divide it. The real mom cried out while the other want it to be divided—Solomon knew by way of response that the real mom was the hurting and compassionate one. After that event everyone knew God had divinely bless Solomon with WISDOM (See, 1Kings 3:16-28).
After this we have all the writings of Solomon in the book of Proverbs, Songs of Solomon, Ecclesiastes and Psalms. The point is that this WISDOM—was available by The Spirit of WISDOM the Holy Spirit. It wasn’t just a spiritual gift that Paul outlined it was a consistent demonstration of the Holy Spirit sharing Divine Wisdom with Solomon to share with all of us.
The New Testament Examples
When Jesus was confronted with the religious leaders who brought a woman caught in the very act of adultery. They tried to stone her by quoting Old Testament scriptures that condemns such action. Jesus ignored them and wrote on the ground. Then He stood up and said he who is without sin cast the first stone. They were all convicted in their own hearts and walked away (John 7:3-11 NKJV).
Jesus did not debate Scripture God’s WISDOM—The Spirit of Wisdom (The Holy Spirit) granted Jesus the right words to say to an angry and manipulative crowd of religious air-heads. They left being embarrassed by their foolish attempts to trap the Lord.
In the book of Acts we have another encounter with the religious air-heads and Stephen the Man of God who was preaching the gospel the Bible says, they were not able to resist the WISDOM and the Spirit by which he spoke (Acts 6:11 NKJV). The entire story with Stephen is found in (Acts 6:8-15, Chapter 7 and Chapter 8:1-2).
Let me say again that the Spirit of WISDOM—is the Holy Spirit Himself constantly sharing and imparting divine wisdom to us to handle every situation that we are confronted with. Solomon was challenged to run a nation God knew he couldn’t do it alone. So God shows up and asked Solomon what he wanted. Solomon asked for the right thing. Isaiah said Jesus would be anointed with the Spirit of Wisdom and we see it when He handled the situation with the woman caught in adultery. Then we read about Stephen and how the religious leaders could not shut him up because the WISDOM and the Spirit by which he spoke was amazing.
The Holy Spirit in Us with WISDOM
We have the Holy Spirit—so we have the WISDOM we need to confront any challenge that we will face in our job, career, ministry, relationship, parenting, and any other thing that might pop up. The key to tapping into this divine WISDOM is to know;
1. That we have it (Isaiah 11:2 NKJV)
2. We know it can be accessed for many different areas of our lives.
3. Paul taught us to pray for Spiritual Wisdom and Revelation (Ephesians 1:16-17 NKJV)
4. James told us if we lack it to pray for it (James 1:5 NKJV)
We need to begin accessing this divine wisdom because life is getting more complicated as the days goes by. We cannot handle any difficult matter unless we seek God about it. We have the upper hand, we have The Spirit of Wisdom is in us to access what we need--we just need to be diligent enough to draw it out by way of prayer and meditation. Then we will be divinely guided to experience God’s best toward our personal situation and experience the blessing. Amen.
