I must confess.
I have committed murder.
Yes, I am guilty.
I killed a man.
He had to die.
I did not want him to die
But he had to die.
His death was brutal.
He suffered greatly.
I beat him and
He was humiliated when I spit on him.
I ripped his beard.
I tore his clothes.
I split his back with little pieces of metal on the end of a whip.
By the time I had finished abusing him,
No one could recognize his form.
The best part of what I did
Is that I have been set free.
I am forgiven and
Suffer no penalty for my crimes.
The man I killed was the Son of man
yet the very Son of God.
His name is Jesus.
He took my sins as His own.
My sins were the reason Jesus died.
He died on the Cross so
I could have a way to the Father and
Not suffer eternal separation.
Jesus was dead just three days.
He rose from the grave
Offering freedom and salvation
To killers like me.
