It Seemed Hopeless

Titus 1:2 in hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began

I Thessalonians 1:3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ

Have you ever had that blessed hope that God will show up in your situations no matter the circumstances? People change, times changes, and circumstances change but God is immutable He changes not. In Hebrews chapter six Paul talks about the immutability of God and how He does not lie; matter of fact it is impossible. We are to take strong consolation in Him and lay hold on the hope set before us; which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast and which allows us to enter into that within the veil. We have a full assurance of hope to the end. We are to follow on to the promise of life eternal through faith and patience. We must rely on God and know that we will do this or that if the Lord God permits it and go on to perfection.

When the telephone rang and woke me up my body felt disturbed. My mind began to wonder about the day I had ahead of me. My roommate had already left for school and I didnít remember ever waking up to take him to school. As I talked to my mother I thought about her condition and my own financial woes. I knew I needed to help her but I thought about my other obligations. I told God I need help to do all that you need me to do. God said just start writing what I told you to do on last night. My situation seemed hopeless. My mom said I should have been adjusted to my less than half of a salary by now. How could I tell her that I allowed the Devil to steal the substance God had put in my hand to steward? I couldnít so I didnít. I just told her I would pay her cell phone bill even if it meant I neglected my own.

It seemed like a hopeless situation but I know God will not allow it to stay hopeless. He is my hope. When we have our hope in God He always make a way. This was a promise my grandmother told me of before she died. When she let me go she gave me an inheritance of the Lord Jesus Christ. She gave me hope, she directed me to the source of her strength; God. She said ďI want you to always remember that God is going to always make a way for youĒ. It was personal and God has always made a way for me. He is my hope, my joy, my peace; God is mine everything, God is my all and all. I continue to trust Him for my all and all.

So much was stolen from me over the last year but forgiveness was an order. When we donít forgive quickly we acquire a spirit of bitterness rooted deep down in our hearts. This bitterness gets in our psyche, moves to our hearts, enters our spirit and goes down into the soul. We can really get messed up because now our situation really seems hopeless. We are like someone that doesnít really know God. We feel even more hopeless than the sinner and itís more of a sin to us because we know better. We have allowed this hopelessness we feel to direct our paths to doubt and unbelief which is sin. Anything that is not faith and belief is sin. To them that knows to do good; hope in God and does not it is sin. When we feel hopeless its time to revisit our salvation and then examine ourselves to see where we fell short because God doesnít fall short; man does.

I know some way, somehow God is going to bring me out of the dungeon of hopelessness and put me back on the road to more than enough. God is good. Everything we go through is not just for us but to help someone else. Itís to give another a chance to repent. Lately this situation I have been put in there were those that I was led to by God that could have helped me but didnít. Instead they still held on to the bitterness that they felt in their heart towards me. Well I was their door to deliverance also. Everything we go through again is not just for us but someone else too. Think it not strange the fiery darts that come our way; take it and make it. If God be God I know He will bring us through.

Christ is our hope of Glory. This is the hope the Christian holds on to no matter the circumstances in our lives. God said He would supply our need according to his riches through Christ Jesus. Since we have this hope we donít have to lay again the foundation of repentance from dead works for we are no longer the same when we come to Christ. Although we have not arrived yet we are enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made a partaker of the Holy Ghost and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the heavenly. This is our hope in Christ Jesus and to put him on the Cross over and over again with our sin is shameful. It seemed hopeless when they put him on the Cross but they didnít understand the hope that would come out of him going to the Cross. If we fall away, to renew us again unto repentance; we crucify to ourselves the Son of God afresh and put him to an open shame.

We donít have to act as one that doesnít have hope; no one does. We can be of good courage and be strengthened in our hearts if we hope in the Lord. Take God as your hope today, trust in Him for your all and all. He is the best provider for the hope of our righteousness. We can be made glad today of that hope. Hope deferred makes the heart sick but when the desire comes it is a tree of life. The righteous even have hope in his death. They donít worry because they trust in God and is blessed. If you ever were a prisoner of something let it be that we are a prisoner of hope. Stand and be judged for the hope of the promise made of God to us. Seem like life is hopeless? Give your life to Christ and let him fill you with the hope of eternal life. Jesus has given us access and we should be willing to walk therein.

We are saved by hope; but hope that is seen is not hope; for what a man see why does he; yet hope for it. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Hope thou in God. Through the Spirit we wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. We wear a helmet of the hope of salvation. We donít see it we believe. Your soul can be anchored in hope today. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. Our prayer today is that your faith and hope might be in God. Jesus came that we might be saved. Itís our choice today; we choose to accept or reject God. We should by hope be ready always to answer the call of God. We also should be ready to give an answer to every man that asks us a reason of the hope that is in us with all meekness and fear.

Hope again for the hope of the righteous shall be that of gladness, but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. The wicked shall perish but we donít have to perish we can hope in God and have everlasting life eternally.
