How’s your sense of direction? In all honesty, I’m directionally challenged. If I’m following directions, I seek simple directions to go straight or make left or right turns. When reading directions to go north, south, east or west, I’m quickly confused and frustrated. I do know my left from my right and can tie my shoes, but have progressed little in designated directions. Are we there yet?
I’m eternally grateful to God. He’s acutely aware of the distance from east-to-west, and he has purposely marked that distance. “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear him (Psalms 103:11-13 RSV).” I have not reached my final destination, but I know he points the way and awaits my arrival…
