She was so sweet, such a tiny little thing
When she left this world on angel's wings
Away from a world where children are neglected and harmed
Now nestled safe in Jesus's arms
Susie was from a broken home
Neglected, abused, often times left alone
It was then you could see her tiny little feet
As she made her way to the church down the street
For it was there she had heard the story told
Of a love worth more than silver and gold
And yet it was said, but could it possibly be
She could have this love absolutely free
All because this man named Jesus died upon a tree
After that when things at home were bad
Susie never cried no matter how sad
But huddled in a corner with her head on her knees
She would be softly singing, yes Jesus loves me
It was a cold winter night when Susie diedThe Pastor from the church was by her side
Just before she passed away these are the words he heard her say
"Pastor, I have to be going now, I hear Jesus calling me.
He says my supper is ready and I don't want to be late you see
He said no more will I have to sleep on the floor
But I'm gonna live in a mansion with him evermore
Pastor, I hear the sound of angel's wings
I'm sure they're coming for me, but before I go
Could we once more sing Yes Jesus Loves Me
Well Susie is in heaven now, but her memory forever remains
Nestled safe in the arms of Jesus
Our loss is heaven's gain
