All mankind, be them great or small, are born in sin as a result of man's (women's) fall in the Garden of Eden. ( Genesis 3:1-7 )
And, as a result of this sin, before any person places his faith in the Savior, he is spiritually dead and, in fact, an enemy of God ( Eph. 2:1-3) ( Rom. 5:10). But when someone chooses to trust in Jesus Christ, his sins are wiped away, and he is adopted into God's family. That individual is set apart as a child of God, with a sacred purpose.
And part of this purpose, for our leaders, is to guide us properly in God's eternal will for our country and our lives.. ( Romans 13:1 ).
You see, God hates rebellion of any kind, be it not conforming to God's laws or not conforming to mans laws. (I Samuel 15:23; Isaiah 30:1; 63:10)! He hates the attitude of lawlessness it produces, as well as the crop of wicked fruit that results from it.
Obviously, I don't know anyone's heart, including our elected leaders .I t is my prayer that they all are believers. That they have been washed in the blood of Christ Jesus. ( 1 John 1:7 )
However, the Bible tells us that, as Christians, we all should be "fruit inspectors"
"This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples" (John 15:8, NIV).
"Ye shall know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16).
One rotten apple, in a barrel of good ones, is easy to fine. Just follow your nose. So, put your nose to the test, where our elected officials are concerned. Our country was founded on God's principles and not those " man made" ones we see every day.
We, as true followers of Christ, must take a stand for the truths of the gospel. And it's not too late to change the world.
God gives us Christians a request and a promise in ( 2 Chronicles 7:14)
REQUEST
To humble ourselves
To pray
To seek God's face
And turn from our wicked ways
PROMISE
He will hear from Heaven
He will forgive our sins
He will heal our land
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land".( 2 Chronicles 7:14 )
