The First Adam was created a living soul, an individual personality. The Last Adam, however, has been created a life-GIVING spirit. That one whose nature it is to give, must connect with others, must bond with others by its very nature. That one is never content to remain a mere living individual, partaking only of life for its own sake. That one in whose image we are cannot neglect the assembling of itself together into something and someone greater than its individuality. As the First Adam that man of dust bore the image of the earthy being earthly-minded, so the Last Adam that man of spirit (and yet embodied) bears the image of the heavenly, being heaven-minded. So let us bear (present tense) the image of the heavenly man of the spirit who is a life-giving bridge-building one in the new creation, constantly in fellowship of one kind or another giving and receiving and being put together with (and not merely present with) others for the Glory of God. (See 1 Corinthians 15 verse 45 and following.)
