Recently I moved, and now I live in a small southern town. This is a town where trains use intersecting tracks and areas of my state are served by the trains that criss-cross in this sleepy southern town. I can hear the trains as they pass through this community; for they have to sound the horns to warn the citizens of the town. There are more trains passing through here because of the different parts of the state serviced from upper and lower South Carolina.
To most people, the trains would be annoying; but to me they are a blessing. Each time I hear the sound of the passing trains, I hear the horn in mono-syllables sharing the word “God”. To me this is a very comforting sound; for I know one day, I will see Our Lord coming to rapture His church with the greatest sound of all as He announces His coming. So I delight in each sound of the horn. God graciously has made sure that the trains’ sounds do not interrupt my sleep; for they do not wake me as they constantly roll along the rails. In addition, I find great comfort in the sound of the train; for me, the sound of the trains is a constant reminder of my God and all that He has done, does do, and will do for me.
