We don't often realize where we are while we're there. It takes leaving it and coming back to get a more complete picture. It's another good reason why as believers we're sent out into all the world so that we're continually leaving and returning. A certain atmosphere can creep in and cling to us and we don't even know it until we walk out of it temporarily. Oh, so THAT'S where I was or how I was. And I don't want to be there or be that way, so I'm going to change this or that about the condition right now, it's within my immediate reach to make those alterations, to bring in a certain freshness. And this is how much of our personal or spiritual growth takes place, in the midst of all our comings and goings.
