It Is God That Builds Up

It is God that builds up and tears down. How do we think we can escape the wrath of God with our sinful evil ways? How God raised Jesus Christ of Nazareth to be the Messiah he came to be was because of Jesus faithfulness to the call. He was sent with a purpose from Heaven but he had to walk out Salvation in the earth before he became the Messiah. What happens midway our call?

Matthew 23:8-11 but be not ye called Rabbi; for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth; for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters; for one is your Master, even Christ. But he that is greatest amon you shall be your servants.

Luke 12:5 but I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear. Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell, yea I say unto you, fear Him.

Matthew 7:10 every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

What has happened to men that they donít want to be servants anymore but Fathers? There are many fathers but only one Father and thatís God Himself. There are those that go about killing the body of Christ unaware and souls are at stake. Men take matters into their own hands aborting the promises of God. They lean to their own understanding but God works against the grain of our thinking. We are not able to rely on our thoughts; our thoughts are after material things and we are never satisfied. We can accomplish things on this side of life as sinners. But to accomplish spiritual things in this life we need God.

Menís accomplishment includes but is not limited to the things we can bring about to completion; but those that God make happen in our lives. It is God that gives men visions and provision to work the vision. Many men have succeeded in reaching the goals they set for ministry while others struggle. Does that mean they are better men? No. Should we look upon them as to what has been accomplished? We have a more crucial goal to meet and thatís to stand before God in holiness and righteousness and answer the call when it is made. God forgives men their sin but there is judgment that comes with that sin. The sin we are talking about today is the spirit of pride.

Pride causes men to seek the glory of people that only God should have. They become so prideful that they began to call Godís people their people. God can use one to hold all together to help them and they accuse them of stealing the hearts of the people to themselves. How foolish is that? They have a fear that will cause them to fall into the judgment of God and they not realize it. What they fail to see is that the person is just a servant and want God plans worked out not only in their life but in the life of the ministry. Helps is a ministry and a good work; it equips the ministry thoroughly with what it needs to propel to the next level. An accomplished gifted person in the ministry of helps is proficient as the result of practice or training. The gift can also be misused because of the established track record beyond doubt or dispute of the things we have accomplished. We acquire a disease called inordinate self-esteem. We become conceited, having reasonable or justifiable self-respect. We find a place and put ourselves in it. We take delight arising from some act, possession or relationship and tend to treat others with disdainful behavior when they fail at something in life. We are showy or expressive to the point that we canít fail.

High mindedness is prohibited by God. We find ourselves marked because of what we have accomplished in life rather natural or spiritually. We are elevated to positions and our principles and feelings changes. This newly acquired state of mind gives us somewhat of a pretentious glory within that we fail to deal with. We feel we can do anything we want and there are no repercussions. Well think again; there are. For every action there is a reaction, what goes up must come down. We become high-powered having great drive, energy, or capacity and feel we are now a dynamic being that can do more for God than the next person. What we do is we become critical of the next person and the way they do things. If it were you on the other side of the table what would you have done? Stop judging; we are not God! Because we have allowed others to have such great influence in our lives; at some point we have missed God rather we accept it or not.

Pride makes us pragmatic; officious, opinionated concerning things we have no authority over. There are matters relative to God that we are not to touch. The fact is that there are some things only God intends to deal with personally. There are exclusions to the power of men that we have in the Kingdom. God gave man dominion over the earth, not heaven. There are intellectual and artistic matters; practical as opposed to idealistic that men of power have had in times past that no time or inclination to deal with for which was good. There are things we are never to touch when it comes to God. Many in the Bible when they touched the Ark of the Covenant died. Pride is characterized by a spirit of pretension. How can we be real with God when we are not real with ourselves? We become fraudulent, liars, and deceivers in menís matters. We over express our worth or status through unwarranted or exaggerated importance. We make demands on others that we ourselves do not keep.

God builds us up but what is He going to do with us with this spirit of pride that we have allowed to come into focus? God produces man in the earth to carry out his purpose still today. God is our master builder and He governs our steps, our make-up, and develops our growth to be used to increase His Kingdom. It is enlarged upon with the Word of God and the Holy Ghost being engaged in that building of manís soul. We are to develop Christians according to Godís systematic plan of Salvation. This process of Salvation God has for man is definite and has totality and complete particulars to follow. Will we grow to the fullness of all God is in a day?
No! It took God time to make man to completeness, spirit and flesh and it will take time to make man an integral part of God again once we have failed or fallen in some part.

Jesus is the foundation on which we build; his life, preaching and teaching of the Word and the fact of who God is. Jesus was brought to us in living color and we are without excuse. If Jesus as a man making the same choices we have to make could live holy in life we can too! He is our example of Holiness and righteousness. He built the structure upon what God and nothing less. God built a house that would stand one not made with hands. Jesus was untraditional from the beginning. There is nothing wrong with being different as long as it is line upon line and precept upon precept. God gave man the physique he has; so He knows what we will and will not do with them. We are to submit to God in all godliness and righteousness unto salvation. It donít matter how well or attractive we are we still must give an account to God for the deeds done in these bodies. We are forgiven yes; but the judgment of our sin is still there.

Take no name to yourselves that God does not allow. Follow Christ; he will make us fishermen of men. He will teach us to be perfect in that we have learned. He will teach us how to sell out all to follow him where we can come to know the more of God as we grow. Be a faithful servant, humble and full of humility, follow peace with all men, and forgive justly. Our righteousness must exceed that of the scribes and Pharisee. Bring good fruit to God gladly and willingly. Reverence the providence of God. Donít swear by heaven for it is Godís throne, neither by the earth for it is his footstool. Man doesnít have the power to make one hair white or black. But seek firstly the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Take no thought on tomorrow what you can do today. Our days are numbered.

The counsel of the ungodly awaits us that we lift our eyes up in hell but it doesnít have to be. If the dead in Christ will hear his voice and come forth, how much more the living? They that have endured hardness as a good soldier, they that have done good and refused the spirit of pride shall come into the resurrection of life; but they that have done evil shall come into the resurrection of damnation.

We must choose today whom we will serve. Except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God. Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Whosoever shall exalt himself above the call of God shall be abased and he that humbles himself to this call shall be exalted. Take heed, donít be deceived it is God that builds up and tear down. He tears down every fruit that is not productive.
