3 John 1
King James Version (KJV)
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Dearly Beloved, I bring you greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Today's topic is about prosperity, the church has became so religious that the word prosperity is viewed as a worldly desire however; the scripture refutes that perspective. The above text clearly shows that it is the will of God that his people prosper and be in health even as their souls prospers. I will be focusing on three areas of prosperity, wealth, health and spiritual and or emotional stability. While the Babylonian system of prosperity is failing the people of God should be prospering. Only God can make a crooked thing straight, only God can make it rain when it has not rained in three and a half years and only God can make you prosper when the world is experiencing an economic decline. Prosperity is more than just wealth...prosperity is all inclusive, it is a life of wealth, health and stable emotions and right relationship with God. It is not either or, but it is all or none. To be considered biblical prosperous your life must be impacted in all the fore mention areas and it is what God desires for your life therefore; do not settle for wealth, without good health, good health without having any money or both money and health but living in a bad relationship and being unstable in your emotions. Maybe you got money, good health and a great relationship but you do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior.....that is not considered biblical prosperity. Prosperity starts from the inside out...as the scriptures declares," even as your soul prospers ". There is a direct correlation as you begin to prosper in your thinking, as you correctly view yourself and begin to see yourself as God sees you...blessed and highly favored, the head and not the tail, blessed going in and blessed coming out. The scripture declares, " as a man thinketh so is he. Once you renew your mind with the word of God you will get rid of that stinking thinking. Prosperity is manifested from the inside out...what you see in your life is a result of how you are thinking. If you are surrounded by poverty and lack it is a result of how you been thinking....even as thy soul prospereth. If your soul is not prospering neither will you. If you are sick or broke today...ask yourself what have I been thinking....ask your self," Do I believe God is a healer". Ask yourself, " Do I believe God shall supply all my needs according to his riches in glory", do I believe God will give me the desires of my heart. If you believe and receive that and doubt not in your heart....you will have what you say! Even as your soul prospereth, you can change your situation and your circumstances by changing what is in your soul....new life comes when you change what you believe. The scripture declares,'repent for the Kingdom is at hand!' If you change what you believe about God, you can change your living condition, you can change your health problems and certainly your soul will be renewed and you can begin to prosper...all the old things and old ways of thinking shall pass way and a new way of thinking and a new way of trusting and believing God shall appear...your soul will begin to prosper in all things.. Get ready to prosper even as your soul prospereth.
