In desire to serve God
Both set out lovingly;
Though turned shortly after…
Into frontline archery.
After years of giving, loving
And getting lost in the ‘roles’…
And losing sight of much
Of God’s purpose composed.
Each lost heart now searching…
Though God be in the gears;
Their pride and grunting reasons
Justifies their true-heart fears.
So warfare just continues,
The cycle from the Garden:
The ‘prince of world’ fights -
Christ’s death - God’s true pardon.
Blame is the game
That battles what is True:
For it’s the world that elects:
“It’s not me, it is you...”
Know Christ is the key
It is all about Him:
And why He did die
On the cross for all man’s sin.
Christ calls deep to each heart
His voice, calling desire…
For us to ‘stop’ this sinful life
And ‘listen’ to His fire…
To serve unconditionally
And to love as Jesus called -
You must give up your life
And die daily to self.
In so doing this…
Is freedom and knowledge,
Understanding and peace:
In God’s design of ‘life’…
And of marriage.
