HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED?
By Henry Jaegers
"And those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever." (Daniel 12:3)
The Bible is not a book like any other book. It is a book that leads to life, meaning, and purpose. How has this book affected your life or better yet how has it affected the lives of others? But someday our life will pass. We do not know how long until or when it shall happen. The question that I would like to pose is this: How do you want to be remembered? As you look back on your life, can you say that you have been faithful and concerned and passionate about the Christ you claim to believe in and who has saved you?
Not all of us have entered into the harvest field at the same time. Some have labored for many years others are new. It's not the number of years that you have been in the harvest field that counts but the quality of labor that you have engaged in while you are there. So looking back, how do you want others to remember you? That is very important. But most important of all is will you hear the words of our Savior when he says "well done thou good and faithful servant enter into the joy of thy Lord”
It doesn't matter if you have made mistakes or have failed. God can restore all the years that the cankerworm has eaten. Most of us, if we are honest know that failure and mistakes are our greatest teachers and have been the means of our progress spiritually.
As for me, I wish to have three words engraved on my tombstone." He was Faithful” and the Scripture verse saying
" well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of thy Lord” Will you join me in this pursuit?
