Hebrews Part 10

2 of 2

We are finishing up the second half of Hebrews Chapter 10. Let’s back into this again here in:

Hebrews 10:20 “By a new and living way which He hath consecrated for us through the veil, that is to say, His flesh;”
Hebrews 10:21 “And having an High Priest over the house of God;”
By then as we learned last time, Jesus through Him dying on the cross one time for all our sins, gave His flesh in order for all of us that believe on Him, on His Word, to have the opportunity of eternal life. Jesus then again, that Most High Priest, King of Righteousness as here:

Genesis 14:18 “(And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and He was the priest of the MOST HIGH GOD.”
Genesis 14:19 “And he blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Abram of the MOST HIGH GOD, possessor of heaven and earth:”
Genesis 14:20 “And blessed be the MOST HIGH GOD, Which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand.” And he gave him tithes of all.)”
Salem (Strong’s 4532)Salem (i.e. Shalem); a place in Palestine; (from Strong’s Hebrew 8004) peaceful; Shalem, and early name of Jerusalem; (same as Strong’s 8003) complete, friendly, full, just, make ready, peaceable, perfected, quiet; whole; (from Strong’s 7999) to be safe (in mind, body or estate); to be completed; to be friendly; to reciprocate; be at peace, make good, repay, perfect, perform, recompense, requite, make restitution, restore, reward.
Melchizedek (Strong’s 4442) king of right; Malki-Tsedek; (from Strong’s 4428) a king; (from Strong’s 4427) to reign; to ascend the throne; to induct into royalty, to take counsel, and (from Strong’s 6664) the right; equity; prosperity; justice, righteous; (from Strong’s 6663) to be right (in a moral or forensic, legal sense), cleanse, clear self, do just or righteous.

God has His plan right at the beginning of the foundation of the world. He already knew that His people would not be able to overcome in the flesh, giving us then, Jesus the Priest of the MOST HIGH GOD, because He loves us. The King of Salem, meaning peace, and Melchizedek, meaning King of Righteousness. Abram, which God changed his name to Abraham, then knew the Lord. He tithed to The Lord, giving Him one tenth of his possesions! Here the bread and wine symbolic of His body and His blood He shed on the cross one time for all sin as here:

Luke 22:19 “And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me.”
Luke 22:20 “Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you.”

Jesus then took the bread, representing His tabernacle, or His body, not some church building nor temple. But His body that HE gave up willingly for us that love Him, those of us that believe in His Word. His blood then represented by the wine, which is the new testament. There is nothing new in God’s Word, but rather HE became that sacrifice one time for all of our sins, as He is perfect. Then moving along:

Hebrews 10:22 “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”
Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful That promised ;)”

His Word of God is that living water, that pure truth. Not mixed in with men’s traditions, nor religion, but His Truth. Then as here:

John 4:13 “Jesus answered and said unto her, “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:”
John 4:14 “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

That Word of God is what we need daily, to have that truth in our minds. That way then we are deceived as Satan will come first as we discussed in II Thessalonians 2:3-4, before Jesus, knowing this fact, will overcome. Having the faith, not in man, or religion, or church doctrines but the Word of God. Moving along:

Hebrews 10:24 “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

By setting the example, being a good witness, a friend, sister, mother, brother, neighbor and so on, that is how the Lord shines through us, His many membered body living in the flesh. Not cutting each other down, and division. As look at the word, “denominations”, that means divisions. That is not the Word of God is all about, but one family, one unit, under Him Our Lord Jesus Christ. Friends, we are living in that day of His return. We have to get through the wilderness of when Satan sits in His throne in Jerusalem before the fact, needing that Word of God in us, eating from that Bread of Life, His Word, constantly. We cannot fall down on the job or sleep, as that is when the enemy will come in, as remember this entire world will be deceived by Satan. As in Revelation 20:8 their number you cannot count will be deceived by religion and church doctrine, all men’s traditions, not God’s and will be deceived. Moving along:

Hebrews 10:26 “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remained no more sacrifice for sins,”
Hebrews 10:27 “But a certain fearful looking for of judgment, and fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries.”

So then if we go back on His Word, His fulfillment of the law of Moses, by giving up His life one time for all sin, then we are willingly sinning! We have that Truth, knowing as Jesus was told about we just read it, way back in the Old Testament in Genesis Chapter 14, that today we are so hung up on men’s traditions and church doctrines, this fact people are blinded to it! Up until this time the law of Moses, or the Old Testament to us today, had to be fulfilled by the blood of animals as goats as here:

Hebrews 10:2 “For then would they not have ceased to be offered, because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins?”
Hebrews 10:3 “But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.”
Hebrews 10:4 “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.”

The priests and the law of Moses, before the Lord came and gave up His life willingly for all of our sins, as HE is perfect, the only One that could satisfy the law. They constantly had to do this over and over, as we all will sin in the flesh at one time or another, period. Moving along:

Hebrews 10:28 “He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:”
Hebrews 10:29 “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith He was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”
Hebrews 10:30 “For we know Him that hath said, “Vengeance belonged unto Me, I will recompense, saith the LORD.” And again, “The LORD shall judge His people.”

The law of Moses before the Lord Jesus’s Christ offering of Himself for our sins, was pretty cut and dry. We now have the mercy and the grace of the LORD God through His Son Jesus Christ, when we each one of us, can go directly to Heavenly Father in His name and ask for His repentance. It’s not our actions, but again, that blood of Jesus that fulfilled the law. Read here again in Hebrews 10:28 “He that despised..” meaning without mercy, just as the person thought they could do it through the law, none of us cannot in the flesh! All of us, at some point in our lives, period, will sin. This same one then, someone that does not believe that by the blood of Jesus Christ, that person if they sit in judgment of themselves or anyone else, is putting themselves in the LORD God’s Position. For HE is Judge as here:

Deuteronomy 31:30 “And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.”
Deuteronomy 32:1 “Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.”
Deuteronomy 32:35 “To Me belongeth vengeance, and recompence;  Their foot shall slide in due time:  For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that shall come upon them make haste.”
Deuteronomy 32:36 “For the LORD shall judge His People, And repent Himself for His servants, When He seeth that their power is gone, And there is none shut up, or left.”

This song of Moses, remember as we learned in Revelation Chapter 15, the overcomers that do not worship Satan in the flesh sing this song. Only to HE, Almighty LORD God Jehovah is both vengeance as well as recompence, meaning payment. If we are listening to His Word and repenting, really making an effort, then all that judgment is blessings. For again HE loves those that serve Him, and those that don’t love Him they bring their own recompense on their own lives. We have to take responsibility for what we do here, as when we go to Heavenly Father remember we bring those righteous actions with us:

Revelation 14:13 “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.’”

The work, all the gifts that God blesses us with, like being a good parent, or a friend, teaching His Word, encouraging others, and so forth, all that goes with us! That is our payday and what we wear in heaven as here:

Revelation 19:7 “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.”
Revelation 19:8 “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.”

The fine linen is what we wear before the Lord, our clothing. So just like in the flesh, it would be shameful not to have clothes, on, right? Remember He is the Judge, talk with Him, and pray, asking for His forgiveness in the name of Son Jesus. Moving along:

Hebrews 10:31 “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
fearful (Strong’s 5598) the last letter of the Greek alphabet, the finality; Omega;

When it’s judgment time, or the finality of judgment as here:

Revelation 20:11 “And I saw a great white throne, and Him That sat on it, from Whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.”
Revelation 20:12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
Revelation 20:13 “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.”
Revelation 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
Revelation 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

When we get to the end of the thousand years, or as in II Peter 3:8, one day is as one thousand with the Lord, after Satan comes to this earth, then Jesus as in II Thessalonians 2:3-4 as well as in Revelation 11:15, when we go to the LORD God for judgment. Again if you are trying to do what is right, most importantly not worshipping Satan when he comes first in the flesh, that time happens right when the Lord Jesus stands as in Zechariah 14:4, as God’s election are already judged by the LORD God for not worshipping Satan in the first earth age. We had a glimpse of the awesomeness and glory of the LORD God here when the Angel of the Lord, meaning the celestial body of the LORD GOD Jehovah gave Moses the law in mount Sinai. As here:

Exodus 33:20 “And He said, “Thou canst not see My face: for there shall no man see Me, and live.”

We cannot see the face of the LORD God as we are in another dimension. For it is was the Angel of the Lord, again His spiritual body, that gave us the law. Then here the people of Israel could not even take His glory, the reflection that was on Moses, His servant, here:

Exodus 34:32 “And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.”
Exodus 34:33 “And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.”
Exodus 34:34 “But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with Him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.”
Exodus 34:35 “And the children of Israel, saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with Him.”

The LORD told Moses to put a veil on his face when going out to the people to give them the law as they could not take it. Moving along:

Hebrews 10:32 “But call to remembrance the former days, in which after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;”
Hebrews 10:33 “Partly, whilst ye were made a gazing stock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.”

Then the Lord using Paul here to remind the people this Word of God, that we were illuminated, or given the truth of His Word, they had lots of controversy. Paul almost dying twice with stonings and beating, imprisonment and so forth. Moving along:

Hebrews 10:34 “For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.”
Hebrews 10:35 “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.”
Hebrews 10:36 “For ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”
Hebrews 10:37 “For yet a little while, and He That shall come will come, and will not tarry.”
Hebrews 10:38 “Now the just shall live by faith; but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.”

These people here then that helped Paul, as remember he was imprisoned for teaching the Word of God as in Acts Chapter 9, the Lord commanded Paul to bring His Word to all peoples, nations, and languages. These faithful people then, the Hebrew speaking or those who were scattered throughout and with the Gentiles, or the other nations. Just as we should today, not for what we benefit here in the flesh, but for our eternal lives, and those of our family, our friends, anyone that the Lord leads us to do His will, like planting the seeds of His Word. We patiently especially as believers in His Word, challenges in life, knowing His promise of eternal life. We have to count on His Word. We cannot think that men’s traditions, church doctrines, or just saying “we are saved” and that’s it. Not crack a Bible open, because we need to know Word. That He, Jesus will not tarry, or not come, but will come. But we need to know the chain of events, with Satan coming before Jesus, so we are ready and prepared. The just, meaning not our actions, but that our actions then that are justified, made clean and right by His blood, then with Heavenly Father’s mercy and His grace giving us another chance to live eternally. We have to be confident, not okay I learned the Word of God, but let me see what this church or that religion, or some person has to say but what His Word, we have to stand fast on His promise. That’s a covenant, meaning His life, the life of Jesus Christ, given willingly to us that love Him and believe on Him, fulfilling that Will and Testament of His Word to those that love Him. Hebrews 10:38 is quoting from here:

Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.”

Those of us that our sins are made right by His action, by His sacrifice, giving His life, one time for all nations and peoples as here:

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:17 “For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Heavenly Father wants us to make it, not to be liable to perish, that means totally blotted out of all existence and memory as Satan will at the end of the Lord’s Day, he the son of perdition of II Thessalonians 2:3-4. The LORD God giving us His Son Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son in place of our sins and our actions in the flesh that go against The Word of God allowing then the opportunity to live eternally with Him. Moving along here:

Hebrews 10:39 “But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”

Once we have that truth, or the Word of God, in our minds, we cannot go back to perdition, or to be liable to perish. Or as in Revelation 20, the second death, which the majority of people living in this final generation of the fig tree will be of Mark 13:28, for they will not have listened to God’s Word and worshipped Satan who comes first. As here the subject the Lord’s return and how we get back to Him:

II Thessalonians 2:1 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him.”
II Thessalonians 2:2 “That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter, as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.”
II Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,”
II Thessalonians 2:4 “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
II Thessalonians 2:11 “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
II Thessalonians 2:12 “That they all might be damned who believed, not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
falling away (Strong’s 646) defection from truth (properly the state (“apostacy” or revolt against one’s religion); falling away, forsake; (same as feminine Strong’s 647) something separative, i.e. divorce, (writing of) divorcement; (from derivative of Strong’s 868) to remove, i.e. instigate to revolt; to desist, desert; fall away, depart; (from Strong’s 575) “off”, i.e. away , and from Strong’s 2476) to stand.
perdition (Strong’s 684) ruin or loss (physically, spiritual or eternal); damnable, destruction, die, perdition, waste; (a presumed derivative of (Strong’s 622) to destroy fully (reflexive to perish, or lose), literally or figuratively destroy, die, lose, mar, perish.

Don’t let any religion, any church doctrine, or religion, even I Thessalonians 4 that so many mislead many to believing this is some “rapture” when in Ezekiel 13:20 God is against those that teach His children to fly away! So then that day, when the Lord Jesus returns does not happen until these two things happen, period! We have to get this down, as this is so important. The great apostasy, or the world then worshipping Satan, and the second thing is that the son of perdition, meaning the son sentenced to perish as in Ezekiel 28:18-19 as well as in Revelation 20:10. There is no other person, but Satan, when he sits on God’s throne claiming to be God. That must happen before the Lord returns. That is the perdition, just as Satan will perish or be blotted out, and he thinks he can beat God. He will try and will be very successful, deceiving the majority of this generation into believing that he is God. Then God’s Word says if you want to believe some other lie, meaning anything not in the Word of God, like this “rapture” or any thing not in the Word of God. For this must happen before we get back to Jesus, then God will send you strong delusion, because if you knowingly worshipped Satan, His enemy, you then would be held liable for that action. IF you want to understand God’s Word, you have to keep men’s tradition, like church doctrines and what men say, not in God’s Word, or else you bring this delusion on yourself. Also, here:

Revelation 17:8 “The beast thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition:  and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.”
foundation (Strong’s 2602) a deposition, i.e. founding; conception; (from Strong’s 2598) to thrown down, cast down or lay; (from Strong’s 2596) down, opposition, distribution, intensity, and (from Strong’s 906)  to throw.
That second beast, meaning Satan when he comes in the false prophet role, will come before Jesus. What does this tells us, that we need to know His Word. The Word of God is the only way out. Talk with Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus and ask HE open your eyes. We have to keep it up, keep continually going to His Word. Not back to what our church or our religion believes and compare and contrast, no. But the simple truth of His Word. I love you so much for keeping in His Word. Most importantly, Heavenly Father does. HE is there, so talk with Him, He loves you!
