Sunday 7/29/12 Pastor Michael sermon= Go Get It! Power of Answered Prayer Matthew 7:7-11

Some people may not be “favored” to win in the Olympics but if they have the desire and believe in themselves, they can win. You have to believe you can do it, believe you can have it and go get it. Go get your blessings because it your time. Its NOW time for you to stop waiting on your blessings but be intentional and go get your blessing. Jesus is saying this is the type of attitude to have for prayer. Make up your mind that nothing is going to stop you from getting your blessing. You don’t have to wait on people. Its your time for your blessing. It’s your time so go get it and it doesn’t matter if others don’t see it. Jesus is teaching how to obtain blessings.
How to Obtain your Blessings

1) ASK
You have to ask for the blessing. Ask the right way. Jesus said ask and it shall be given.. If we are not getting it, maybe its because of the way we are asking. Or maybe its what we are asking for. In John it says to ask anything according to God’s Will. If we are not asking the right way, then God doesn’t hear us. If we abide in Jesus and the word abides in us, ask and it shall be done.
We have to build a relationship with Jesus so that what we are asking will be in the Will of God. In James it says people were asking and not getting it because they asked with the wrong motives. You should pray to glorify God and not to have something to show off. Whatever we ask for, let the motive be to give God the glory! When people see our prayers are being answered, we can tell them God did it! Ask with the right motivation and we shall receive!
Don’t give up on our prayers when they are not answered right away. Keep on asking God! Act and walk around like God has already answered the prayer already. Give God praise before the blessing comes. Its on the way! Our blessing is on the way! Go get it in the spirit! Its my time! Praise Him like its already here! When praises go us, blessings come down! It’s our time! The bible says be anxious for nothing. We know that we know that its on the way! No need to be anxious. Don’t worry about it, pray about it!
2) SEEK
Seeking has to do with our passion. It’s the pursuit of what God has for us with a passion. Have a passion about what He says and look for how he is going to answer our prayer. Pursue the answer and look for it. Sometimes when we ask God to change others it may be that he changes us instead. We must passionately pursue God and we will find him. God says call on him and He will show us great things. Actively seek how God is going to answer. Seek Him passionately and you will be alert on how He will answer.
3) KNOCK
Knock has to do with persistence. Keep on knocking. Keep on asking God until you get it. You are showing that you have faith in God because you keep asking him. Its when you stop asking that it looks like you lost your faith.. Knocking is continuing to pray and seeking and knocking. You believe God can do it so keep on knocking. Don’t give up until you see the manifestation. Ask, Seek, Knock and the door will be opened. Go get it, Go get it! Go get your blessing because it’s your time!!
