THE FAMILY CLAN
Long ago people came to this land
From Ireland afar, my father’s clan
Migrated to America with new hope
From Ireland’s poverty and sea slope.
With pride and strong devotion
They came across the vast ocean
Undaunted, determined and glad
Leaving Ireland for them so sad.
No more shamrocks or pots of gold
With rainbows and dreams so bold
Generations now passed to this day
America is where my family will stay.
