I knew Jesus reminded his listeners that worry would not add one fraction of an inch to anyone's physical height or one moment of time to anyone's lifespan. But until my wife Leslyn mentioned it I hadn't considered that, on the contrary, worry might actually contribute to the ever so gradual loss of height or to an ever so subtle but tragic shortening of the life. That provides even more motivation not to try to "saw sawdust." ( It's already been sawed once, man!) Besides we've already had an "incredible shrinking man" so there's no good reason why we have to add the"incredulous shrinking man."
