Bright Light

It’s late at night. A husband returns home, after working a double shift. He enters the bedroom, and without thinking flips on the light. His wife, awakened by the bright light, covers her eyes. Annoyed she says, “Turn off that bright light!”

“And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed (John 3:19-20 NRS).”

The overdue husband exposed his wife to bright light. She wanted to protect her eyes from the sudden light, flooding their bedroom. The lost, living in spiritual darkness, reject the light of the gospel. Yet, all need the light. Let it shine!
