Hebrews Part 6 3 of 3
Genesis 3:20 “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.”
Adam(Strong’s 120) ruddy, i.e. a human being (an individual or the species, mankind, etc.); (from Strong’s 119) to show blood (in the face), i.e. flush or turn rosy, be (dyed, made) red (ruddy).
Because both Adam, which means a man with a ruddy complexion, or shows blood in the face, meaning like when you blush as a Caucasian person does. Not to say any other race is better or worse, but common sense tells us not all people came from Adam and Eve. We have many different colors and nationalities, and God loves all His creation:
Genesis 1:31 “And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
Then moving along here:
Hebrews 6:18 “That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:”
immutable (Strong’s 276) unchangeable, or exchangeability, immutable.
The two immutable, meaning the two things that can never change, meaning they are eternal, as remember in Luke 1 the archangel foretold Mary that the kingdom of the Lord is without end, meaning eternal. Those things are both God’s promise, and God’s oath. We have the Word of God, HE became a flesh Man, or Son of Man, Jesus Christ, standing right before us, or that generation that lived with Him. Then we have still that oath of God, just think, swearing upon His very Name, Which is the Word of God, what more do we need? Nothing! With God we have it all! Not some new religion, or new church that pops up out of nowhere, there are many of those out there today! No way, but these two solid facts, we should be calling them. That is, remember the faith as God’s election we must have, remember in Hebrews 6:11, the full assurance of hope, meaning the confidence in our faith that the Word of God, Jesus Christ, HE is Reality for us! When we pray and we talk with God, we are standing before the throne of the LORD God in the name of Jesus Christ, how awesome! That is the faith we need, especially as God’s election, we that know better, we being more perfect, not as people, but our maturity in knowing the truth of His Word, that the Lord has taken the time with each one of us, giving us His water, His Word, and putting that undistilled truth in our minds, not giving us too much so we cannot understand it, but rather lifting us up to the level we need to be at during that moment in time of our learning about Him! How good His Word to us that believe in Him! Then moving along:
Genesis 15:1 “After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, “Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”
Genesis 15:2 “And Abram said, “Lord GOD, what wilt Thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?”
Genesis 15:3 “And Abram said, “Behold, to me Thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.”
Genesis 15:4 “And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, “Thus shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.”
Genesis 15:5 “And He brought him forth abroad, and said, “Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them:” and He said unto him, “So shall thy seed be.”
Genesis 15:6 “And he believed in the LORD; and He counted it to him for righteousness.”
Here we came to see how people would do an oath or a promise to each other. Like today, our word we give someone is like gold, isn’t it, when we follow through. We can only condemn ourselves and our names, by not following through, or not doing what we promise with our family and our friends, for example? Well then, here Abram is not knowing or having the faith yet that he would have a son, and giving this oath, that if he were to die a childless man, this Eliezer, his friend and servant, would then be Abram’s beneficiary or heir. Then the LORD God promising Abram that not only would he have his son, but then his future generations, so great you cannot count their numbers. And then later on as we read, even kings and queens would come out of his family’s bloodline! Then moving here:
Genesis 22:1 “And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, “Abraham:” and he said, “Behold, here I am.”
Genesis 22:2 “And He said, “Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.”
Genesis 22:3 “And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.”
Genesis 22:4 “Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.”
Genesis 22:5 “And Abraham said unto his young men, “Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.”
Genesis 22:6 “And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and knife; and they went both of them together.”
Genesis 22:7 “And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, “My father:” and he said, “Here am I, my son.” And he said, “Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”
Genesis 22:8 “And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering:’ so they went both of them together.”
Genesis 22:9 “And they came to the place which God had told him of: and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.”
Genesis 22:10 “And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.”
Genesis 22:11 “And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, “Abraham, Abraham:” and he said, “Here am I.”
Genesis 22:12 “And He said, “Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from Me.”
Genesis 22:13 “And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.”
Genesis 22:14 “And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-Jireh: as it is said to this day, “In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.”
Jehovah-Jireh (Strong’s 3070) Jehovah will see (to it); a symbolical name for Mount Moriah; Jehovah(from Strong’s 3068) the self-Existent or Eternal; (from Strong’s 1961) to exist, i.e. be or become, come to pass, and (from Strong’s 7200) to see; advise self, appear, mark, meet, be near, perceive, present, provide, regard, (have) respect, foresee, shew (self), sight of others, spy, stare, surely, think, view, visions.
Abraham then had Isaac, and the sacrifice that the LORD God Who wanted to test Abraham’s faith, commanded that he take his son up the mountain they two alone, with the wood for a burnt sacrifice. Then the LORD God would provide the sacrifice at Mount Moriah. Abraham never questioned God or asked God to prove He really was God, but listened, respectfully, go the wood, and they went up. Then Abraham did not have an offering yet, and he sacrificed, just think this son he had after ninety-nine years no kids, then giving up his only son to show His love and respect to the LORD God, that’s the faith we need to have as Christian elect people that love our Lord with all our hearts! Then the LORD God saw such faith this dear man, Abraham, had and then the LORD God really knows what a servant HE has! Abraham willing to do so, but God’s Word always comes true! God then promised the lamb would be provided, caught in a thicket of thorns, the horns, or the power of the ram, caught, and then the sacrifice could take place. Then Abraham called the location to this day is still called Jehovah-Jireh, or Jehovah will provide! What an awesome LORD God we serve! Also a symbolic name of Mount Moriah, which keep that in mind. We’ll get there. Then:
Genesis 24:1 “And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.”
Genesis 24:2 “And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, “Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:”
Genesis 24:3 “And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:”
Genesis 24:4 “But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.”
Genesis 24:5 “And the servant said unto him, “Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?”
Genesis 24:6 “And Abraham said unto him, “Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.”
Genesis 24:7 “The LORD God of heaven, Which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and Which spake unto me, and That sware unto me, saying, ‘Unto thy seed will I give this land;’ He shall send His angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.”
Genesis 24:8 “And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.”
Genesis 24:9 “And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter.”
Abraham as a man is making an oath with that same eldest servant, or Eliezer, and they put their hand under the thigh,
as a symbol that they are taking an oath. We go here:
I Corinthians 5:7 “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:”
I Corinthians 5:8 “Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”
passover (Strong’s 3957) the Passover (the meal, the day, the festival or the special sacrifices connected with it); Easter, Passover; (compare Chaldee Strong’s 6453) a pretermission, i.e. exemption; used only technically of the Jewish Passover (the festival or the victim); Passover (offering); (from Strong’s 6452) to hope, i.e. skip over (or spare); by implication to hesitate; also to limp, to dance, leap, pass over.
Our Passover, meaning the day, festival or the Sacrifice, as Jesus Christ, Jehovah’s Savior the Anointed One the meaning, is our Passover Lamb with no spot, perfect in the flesh, HE never sinned, as no person could ever do this, only HE! Then as here this example, or forerunner of what the Lord Jesus was, the Passover:
Exodus 11:7 “And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.”
Exodus 11:13 “Ad the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.”
Exodus 11:27 “That ye shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the LORD’S passover, Who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses.’” And the People bowed the head and worshipped.”
The blood of those male lambs without blemish, then the blood placed over the house doors, and they were to eat up that lamb before they went out into the wilderness. Then the death angel, who is that now? Satan, again the son of perdition, the only son in God’s Word condemned to perish both in Ezekiel 28:17-8 as well as the devil in Revelation 20:10. Satan that death angel then when we, the election, go through the wilderness, this world’s condition when Satan is sitting on God’s throne claiming to be God as in II Thessalonians 2:3-4. Then that blood of the Lamb, our remember, our immutable faith, that confidence that His Word of God is Reality, we can solidly get through that wilderness with that gospel armor in our foreheads, remember as in Revelation 9:4, that Satan and his fallen angel army cannot touch anyone with the Word of God, really knowing God’s Plan, in their minds. His words and lies cannot touch the truth in us, as well as here:
Revelation 3:8 “I know they works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My word, and hast not denied My name.”
The second of the two churches of the seven in Revelation that Jesus approved what they taught. Once we know that Word of God, nobody, not even the death angel, Satan, can change that in God’s election. Then here:
Revelation 19:16 “And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
On the what? On His thigh is a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS! That is bringing as God’s Word is perfect and oh so good, not only the oath, as Jesus is making here to all of us that believe in Him, but on His very Name The Word of God, is The KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS! So if something is bothering you, or when you pray you really want to have faith but cannot, what’s up with that? I may ask you, for you can’t have a little faith, or even think you have faith, but have it just like you can look at the back of your hand and see it, right it’s there! You pinch your skin, don’t do that, but just to show you how much faith as a Christian soldier, that’s what we are as God’s election that HE chose us, you and I, we did not choose Him, as here:
John 15:14 “Ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.”
John 15:15 “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you.”
John 15:16 “Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you.”
Jesus is calling you His friend, if you listen to His Word and then do it. Not a servant, or a slave, as some religions teach, but a servant, giving you the play by play action of what will happen in these last days. That Satan comes first at the sixth trumpet of Revelation 6:12, before Jesus at the seventh trumpet of Revelation 11:15, it’s that simple. Like a child could understand, not to cut anyone down, but the Lord that loving us all. Making His Word that plainly when we come as a young child, like you would with your dad when you are a young child, believing them what they tell you. He then gives us all the details about His return, we hit some points today as in Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, as well as Daniel and Revelation. Search Him, meaning His Word, out as we read and be saved. If not, be like the majority of this final generation, as each person, this is real folks, we are mature, or perfected, in His Word, and we have to behave like adults, not the milk of salvation, or “I’m saved” so maybe I’ll get around to reading the Word. No way! Then Jesus is saying that HE has chosen us, not us that chose Him. Think about that, meditate on it. Absorb that fact. It is then our responsibility by having that veil of blindness that this world the majority today even if they tried would have a real hard time understanding the Word of God. We then are to bring forth fruit, or use our God-given and God-blessed tools not that we learned from our lives and education, but that HE taught us through HIS Holy Spirit, that is His Word. That is how we plant seeds, God then waters them if HE desires, as it is His will, our job is to do our job and be witnesses, use our gifts, like being a good citizen, a good sister, or parent, or even a teacher, or someone that visits people in the hospital, or the elderly, or a schoolteacher. Whatever those gifts are, pray to Him, and ask that HE open you up to do what HE needs. As we are all different, no one better than anyone else, and all gifts are without repentance, meaning if you have gone astray you still have that gift and you are responsible for it:
Romans 11:29 “for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”
Believe me, I live in the flesh just like you, some days are more challenging than others. Gird up your loins, or keep your pants on as in Ephesians 6, and as God told Job and listen to Him, listen to His Word, and you’ll get there. It takes lots of exercise in the Word, and a lot of patience and confidence in our faith as we are learning here to get there. If I can do this, so can you, I believe in you, but more importantly, HE does! He loves you and so do I. Then finishing here:
Hebrews 6:19 “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”
anchor (Strong’s 45) an “anchor” (as crooked); (from same as Strong’s 43) (a bend, “ache”); an arm (as curved)
Hebrews 6:20 “Whither the Forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an High Priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.”
forerunner (Strong’s 4274) a runner ahead, i.e. scout (precursor); (from the alternate of Strong’s 4390) to run forward, i.e. outstrip, precede, outrun, run before; (from Strong’s 4253) “fore”, in front of, prior (superior) to; above, ago, before or ever, and (from Strong’s 5143) to run or walk hastily; have course, run.
Melchisedec (Strong’s 3198) from Hebrews 4442) (Strong’s 4442) king of right or righteousness.
The anchor, meaning just like an anchor in boating, it keeps that vessel, the ships we are in our flesh bodies, in His Word. It is our hope and our faith in the Word of God, that keeps our boats out of rough waters, so to speak. Then Jesus HE entered the veil, remember HE opened up the throne of His Father, Our Heavenly Father, that each person does not have to go through a flesh man priest, but can now go directly to Our Heavenly Father. We pray to Him in the name of Jesus Christ, showing we believe in that Word of God. That is our calling Card, you might say! Our proof we are believers, and our actions speak way louder than any words we can say to God, as HE knows all and sees all, the Only One that can read our minds. Jesus is the Forerunner of this flesh life, paving the way as a Scout would for the enemy, Satan, showing us, especially in Matthew 4 and Luke 4, how Satan will deceive, especially at the end when he comes before Jesus sitting on His throne calling himself God as in II Thessalonians 2:3-4. Pray and talk with God like you mean it. Have the confidence that He can provide, then after praying go and say to yourself I doubt it that would happen! God wants you to live that confidently in life, bringing that Holy Spirit, His Spirit, out there to anyone He puts in your life, showing the world that HE is real. He is living in each one of us that believe in His Word. HE loves you. Talk with Him. He is there and HE will help you. I love you for trying and staying in His Word, and He loves you so much! Keep it up!
