In business it’s said one of the hardest things to learn is to delegate. My question is have you delegated away your birthright? We know the older brother Esau sold his birthright to his younger brother Jacob for a bowel of porridge. Jacob was a patriarch in the ancestral line of Jesus. As a believer, you have a heritage as well. Is there something God has for you to do? Are you leaving it up to someone else? It might even be as simple as raising your child. It might be something at church God has for you to do. The tribe of Levite was given the authority as ministers in the temple of God, but they delegated it away.
Ezekiel 44:10 says they stray away from God as other things became more important and they ended up worshiping idols. You might not think after such a betrayal God would ever trust them again with His holy temple, but He did. He even restored them to their previous post. Jesus gave His life on a cross and bore your sin and rose again to claim victory over spiritual death once and for all for you. Even if you’ve sold your birthright, it’s not too late because God wants to forgive you and help you realize your contribution to His kingdom. There’s nothing more satisfying than serving the Savior as you enter in the presence of God and His purpose for your life.
