We went to church last Sunday
My how the rafters rang
As we lifted up our voices
In praises to the King
There were smiles upon the faces
Of all who entered in
Into the presence of the Lord
And His power did descend

Heaven came down

The Spirit was in that place

Setting my soul on fire
I knew my soul had been revived
And I had moved up higher

Sinners they came down the aisle
Church members they came too
Gathering around the altar
Just like we often do
But this time it was different
The Fire from God came down
Salvation for all who would repent
And they were heaven bound

When we get to heaven
I know it will be grand
We'll see Christ our Savior
He'll take us by the hand
We'll sing to Him a new song
One the angels cannot sing
For He wrote this song for you and me
On a hill called Calvary
