Hebrews Part 4

2 of 2

Hebrews 2:14 “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”

Jesus has defeated the power of death, which is the devil, so we can be at rest today. There is more than life than the flesh, as we have the eternity to look forward to when either we pass away, or when the Lord Jesus Christ comes after Satan comes first, whichever is in God’s plan for you. Live your life fully, enjoying each day, doing God’s will, for He will use you up to your last breath and be a witness and use the gifts that HE has blessed you with. It’s all there, we just have to dig out those gold nuggets, the hidden manna:

Revelation 2:17 “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving that he receiveth it.’”

If you can read and understand God’s Word you are so blessed, meaning you are an overcomer, someone God can use. We are the workers of the Word of God, right, so even as an oxen that is plowing a field, planting the crop seeds, God provides this hidden manna as here:

I Timothy 5:18 “For the Scripture saith, “Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn.” And, “The labourer is worthy of his reward.”

Quoting from here:

Deuteronomy 25:4 “Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.”

When we serve the Lord He will feed us, even those of us that are teaching His Word, or prophesying, giving us this deep truths that are available to anyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear His Word. Only God can pick out who they are, no person. So be open for God to use you for you never know who HE will put in your path, to maybe encourage, say a good word of encouragement and so on. Then let’s go here:

Matthew 8:5 “And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto Him a centurion, beseeching Him.”
Matthew 8:6 “And saying, “Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.”
Matthew 8:7 “And Jesus saith unto him, “I will come and heal him.”
Matthew 8:8 “The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.”
Matthew 8:9 “For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, ‘Go,’ and he goeth; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he cometh; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he doeth it.”
Matthew 8:10 “When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to them that followed, “Verily, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”
Matthew 8:11 “And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east, and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.”
Capernaum (Strong’s 2584) Capernaum (I.e. Caphachum); a place in Palestine; (probably from Hebrews Strong’s 3723) a village (as protected by walls); village; (from Strong’s 3722) to cover (specific with bitumen, or a black, sticky substance obtained from petroleum, used to pave roads, and (from Hebrew Strong’s 5151) comfortable; (from Strong’s 5162) to sigh, I.e. breathe strongly; by implication to be sorry; to avenge, comfort self.
centurion (Strong’s 1543) the captain of one hundred men.

Jesus here was at Capernaum, which is a location in the land of Judea, or Israel today. The meaning is to cover with bitumen, or what streets are made of, and be using that cover for protection or rest. Instead of resting in the Word of God, the message here, they are relying on this well-traveled road, of this flesh world, or men’s ideas and thinking, I.e. religion, and church doctrines not founded in God’s Word. So then this centurion, a Roman soldier over a group of 100 men, was so loving and respectful of the Lord, saying it’s okay. I take your word, Lord, for if I tell one of my men to do something, it’s done! Showing us all as believers how much faith this man, who was a Gentile Roman soldier, not from the nation of Israel had more faith than HE was finding there at that time! Then Jesus states in Matthew 8:11 that people from all over the world, all nations, all races and nationalities, will sit with the Lord at His table along with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all three from the nation of Israel. Telling us God is fair with all peoples, no group better than anyone, that you don’t have to fit into that 144,000 that so many spend lots of time doing their geneologies to try and “get into heaven”, that right here we see again, as John 3:16 states “..whomsoever believeth in Him…” anyone who loves the Lord and then knows and tries to do His Word of God. Moving along now:

Hebrews 4:6 “Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:”
Hebrews 4:7 “Again, He limited a certain day, saying in David, “To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.”

Remember as Jesus told the man who was dying on the cross as well with Him that today, not next year, next week, but TODAY I will see in paradise, or heaven. Like the people of Israel along with Moses, Aaron and Miriam, who the LORD God spoke with all three of them! Just showing us that His time, for those three did not enter into the promised land of milk and honey, Israel, but they died in the flesh prior to that for doubting God. His timing is perfect, even with God’s election as we see there, as here in Psalms which God is using Paul to quote from:

Psalms 95:7 “For He is our God; And we are the People of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. To day if ye will hear His voice,”
Psalms 95:8 “Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, And as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:”

So just like here in the day of temptation when the people were in the wilderness and they were ready to kill and stone Moses for water, even after God opened up the Red Sea, provided them with quail and manna for food, and protected them by His cloud during the day and His light at night:

Exodus 17:4 “And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, “What shall I do unto this People? They be almost ready to stone me.”
Exodus 17:5 “And the LORD, said unto Moses, “Go on before the People, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the River, take in thine hand, and go.”
Exodus 17:6 “Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the People may drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”
Exodus 17:7 “And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us, or not?”

Because then Moses struck the rock twice, tempting the LORD God, as the people were ready to kill him! They had no faith, and it showed Moses did as well as he struck the rock twice, as if saying if you are there GOD provide us water! That’s why the people could not go into the promised land for that forty year generation, in Biblical numerics, forty equals probation. Then continuing here:

Psalms 95:9 “Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, And said, “It is a People that do err in their heart, And they have not known My ways:”
Psalms 95:10 “Unto whom I sware in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest.”

They had the Word of God with them, THE Angel of the LORD God was traveling along with them, and by His actions a witness to the many miracles. The only two that were allowed in were Joshua, who God used after HE took Moses, as well as Caleb:

Numbers 32:12 “Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the LORD.’”
Numbers 32:13 “And the LORD’S anger was kindled against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.”

Those people then had no rest, no true peace of mind knowing the reality and truth that God is very real. He is not some force out there, but The LORD God Jehovah, and we all were, including Jesus Christ, created in:

Genesis 1:26 “And God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.”

Just like we were in the celestial bodies we have as well as our terrestrial bodies, we wear here in the flesh of I Corinthians 15:40, we were created as God and the angels. A carbon copy of how we looked in our spiritual body, that way as in Ezekiel 44:25, we in the Lord’s Day, or the thousand years, after the Lord returns, the next age, we are able to go to our loved ones who are not successful in not worshipping Satan in the flesh and help them. Then moving along here:

Hebrews 4:8 “For if Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterward have spoken of another day.”
Hebrews 4:9 “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.”
rest (Strong’s 4520) a “sabbatism”, i.e. the repose of Christianity (as a type of heaven); rest; (from a derivative of Strong’s 4521); the Sabbath , or day of weekly repose from secular avocations; a seven night, i.e. the interval between two Sabbaths; (Hebrew Strong’s 7676) intermission, i.e. the Sabbath, (from Strong’s 7673) to repose, i.e. desist from exertion; to celebrate, keep Sabbath, suffer to be lacking, leave, put away (down), (make to) rest.

Here this is yet a different word for “Rest” or Strong’s Greek 4520 which means a sabbatism or Sabbath in English. Jesus then is our Sabbath. We can rest in the Word of God everyday, not just on Sunday, as some ignorantly teach as they have not read God’s Word with understanding. It is special time to spend with Him every day of the week, and He is so glad you talk with Him, really pray sincerely, and open up your mind to His Word so HE can help you along. It’s not an overnight process, so hang in there, as we all go through good times and bad, the reason why the meat of the Word of God as our spiritual food supply is so important on a daily basis. Not to become a religious fanatic, for each person has different taste or there is no set time to learn and study. Pray to Him, ask for His wisdom in doing this, and you know yourself better than anyone can advise you! If you are open to Him though, The Lord can stretch your mind so you can learn more, but you have to be willing. No person can force you, nor any church, even though many like to go out and covert people! Now then that sabbath is the rest that all of God’s people have. You can see it in them, their happiness, their faith and confidence in life, for they are putting God’s Word first, and He in their lives. Then moving on:

Hebrews 4:10 “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.”
Hebrews 4:11 “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:13 “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.”
opened (Strong’s 5136) to seize by the throat or neck, i.e. to expose the gullet of a victim for killing (general to lay bare); opened; (from Strong’s 5137) the throat (neck), i.e. life.
creature (Strong’s 2937) original formation; building, creation, creature, ordinance; (from Strong’s 2936) to fabricate, i.e. found (form originally), create, Creator, make.
manifest (Strong’s 5319) to render apparent, appear, manifestly declare, (make) manifest (forth), shew (self); (from Strong’s 5318) shining, i.e. apparent; publicly, externally, abroad, appear. (from Strong’s 5316) to lighten (shine) i.e. show; (base of Strong’s 5457) (to shine or manifest), especially by rays; luminousness) fire, light.

When we give dear God all the praise and glory for bringing us to Him, finally, and it’s so good when we get there! It is realizing that as people we can try as hard as we can but we can never get there without His help, period! When we then have the rest, confident and faithful to His Word, not like the majority of people today who maybe on Sunday after they go to their Sunday church meeting feel “uplifted” but then on Monday the winds are blown out of their sails, so as to speak! Or they lose their joy and faith in the fact that God is real, He is not some religion, but that same confidence may be lost if you are not founded your faith on what is solid, Which is the Word of God. No mater what kind of mood we are in, or whatever challenge we are going through, the Word of God cuts us back, all of the fat, we can call of it, of this flesh life, all those we soon find even stupid thoughts we have that pull us from God, become less and less and even to a point of peacefulness or that rest we are talking about. Right? As here in Hebrews 4:13, the word “opened” means the gullet or trachea, God can look down into you, just following along with the symbolism of divide flesh and marrow. Meaning we are flesh people, God’s Our Creator that made all of our flesh bodies, as well as our souls:
Ezekiel 18:4 “Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
Ezekiel 18:5 “But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right.”
Ezekiel 18:6 “And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour’s wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman.”

All souls belong to God, we cannot decide when we are ready. That’s the Word of God, HE owns you! Just like He owns me and everyone else! Then here the Word is saying if we do what is lawful and right, meaning The Word of God as best as we can, make the effort, and not eaten and here mountains, symbolic of the nations, of those nations not of Israel that did not have the Word of God at that time, and not worshipped their idols, or then here symbolically, as both these are unclean, the act of adultery, as we are not to jump in bed spiritually with Satan, nor then before The Lord Jesus Christ according to the law a monstrous woman, that time was called unclean as in Leviticus 18:19. Only God here we see in Hebrews 4:12 is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart, meaning our minds. Only God can read our minds. Satan cannot. Satan can watch us, as one of his names purposely given by God in His Word is the old serpent in Genesis Chapter 3:
Revelation 12:7 “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,”
Revelation 12:8 “And prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.”
Revelation 12:9 “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world, and his angels were cast out with him.”
Revelation 12:10 “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.”

Satan will use anything we say out loud, and watch our actions, and then our reactions to situations. Satan cannot read our minds, as he is being held in chains along with those fallen angels of Genesis 6:1-5 and Jude :6 which are all judged to perish, but not by name. Only Satan is here listed some of his names, like the dragon mentioned in Revelation 12:4, in the first earth age that deceived one third of God’s people. Also, Lucifer, his name meaning morning star, as Satan is trying all the time to sit in Jesus’ throne as in Zechariah 3:1 as well as in Ezekiel 28, the devil who then will go in the lake or fire, is written in Revelation 20:10, the son of perdition of II Thessalonians 2:3-4. Satan did deceive the world in the first age, and will do it again, so keep in the Word so you are not deceived, along with the majority on earth today in this final generation. Satan here is the accuser, that accuses all of us, God’s people, night and day. That’s why they will be so happy in heaven when Revelation 12:7-9 happens and as in Revelation 8:1 there is silence in heaven for one half an hour, or for the two and one months during the five month period of Revelation 9:5 when Satan is here in person on earth! But woe to us! Keep the Word of God on and you will be fine. Moving along here:

Hebrews 4:13 “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.”
creature (Strong’s 2937) original formation; building, creation, creature, ordinance; (from Strong’s 2936) to fabricate, i.e. found (form originally), create, Creator, make.
manifest (Strong’s 5319) to render apparent, appear, manifestly declare, (make) manifest (forth), shew (self); (from Strong’s 5318) shining, i.e. apparent; publicly, externally, abroad, appear. (from Strong’s 5316) to lighten (shine) i.e. show; (base of Strong’s 5457) (to shine or manifest), especially by rays; luminousness) fire, light.

There is no creature, meaning any creation of God’s that is not open to His viewing, as we all are naked and open to Him. There is nothing we can hide from Him, so don’t worry if you have some done something you are not proud of, He already knows! Acknowledge it, repent of it and do it from the heart, as He knows when we fake it, and ask for His forgiveness in the name of Jesus, and then try and sin no more. Remember you will remember that sin, for our own benefit in our memories so we don’t do that again! Satan cannot read our minds, so if you are praying about some work you are doing for Him, especially, or anything, and don’t want the enemy to use it against you, then pray in silence. God is there and ready to hear from you! Finishing up now:

Hebrews 4:14 “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, That is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.”
Hebrews 4:15 “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Jesus then as in Psalms 110:1 is on the right hand of God, sitting on His rightful throne in heaven. We read in Revelation 19:16, or Lord of lords, that High Priest for all times and forever! He, His Word of God, is our profession, or what we are professing, and confessing to those that God puts into our lives. So remember keep your mind open, for you will never know when God will use you for His witness or testimony, of even your own life, all the blessings you have, the happiness and peace of mind that His Word of God is real and true. He is not here in the flesh with us right now, for Jesus will come after Satan, then when we are in our celestial bodies as in I Corinthians 15:52 as all flesh then would be changed to celestial bodies, or angelic bodies, at His return, for then heaven will be on earth. Flesh and blood cannot inherit, meaning get into heaven:

I Corinthians 15:40 “There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the
glory of the terrestrial is another.”
I Corinthians 15:50 “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”
I Corinthians 15:51 “Behold, I shew a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,”
I Corinthians 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
I Corinthians 15:53 “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
I Corinthians 15:54 “So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
I Corinthians 15:55 “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”
I Corinthians 15:56 “The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.“
terrestrial (Strong’s 1919) worldly; earthly, in earth.
celestial (Strong’s 2032) above the sky, celestial, heavenly.

If you are living in a flesh body, then Jesus has not arrived. For Satan comes before Jesus at the sixth trumpet, vial and seal of Revelation 13:18, his number then six, six and six, the number of flesh, or that that will perish, as Satan will. Then Jesus at the seventh, and the last trump of I Corinthians 15:50, at the seventh trumpet as here:

Revelation 11:15 “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of this world are become the kingdoms of our LORD, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.”

We cannot see God and live, meaning He is in another dimension, in the celestial Body, as we will then instantly change at the Lord’s return. Then all the people, all those with mortal, or liable to perish souls, the majority who will have worshipped Satan, will all be there right at God’s throne, for His judgment. Then death is swallowed in victory, which is Satan, for we have that today as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ Who is the Word of God! The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. Meaning once we know the law, the Word of God, it can hurt sometimes when we stray from it. It will be a very hurtful sting for the many who will listen to their churches or their religions, not knowing that there are two tribulations. Not resting on The Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the Word of God, only hearing His Word, so they will not be deceived. Ask for His help, and He is there. He loves you for keeping in His Word, and for really trying to understand. I love you so much, too, and if I can do this, so can you! Keep it up, every day, maybe just for a few moments you have, and try! He is there to help you! You can do it!
