Lord I awoke this morning with such a start
And I heard you speaking to my heart
My child awaken while the day is still new
And enjoy all the beauty in store for you
So I arose with sleepy eyes
Looked out my window toward the skies
I saw your handiwork all around
From the lofty heaven to the grassy mounds
I heard the birds their song so sweet
Saw the floweres and the leaves on the trees
In the east the sun appeared in the sky
Soft, billowy clouds drifted by
I felt your arms so tender and warm
My body seemed no long tired and worn
My spirit was renewed within my breast
I knew that today I could stand the test
How could I doubt your love for all today
When I see such beauty on display
My prayer, my praise will ever be
That I lift your name for all to see
You are the God of all creation
My redeemer, my friend in all situations
As I gaze about me viewing the land
I see the work of my Master's hand
No god above, no god below
No other savior do I need to know
There's only one God in whom I believe
He's the only God I'll ever need
