I'm so angry I'm depressed;
I failed my heart to bring this through.
Destructive energy with no rest;
seems I couldn't take care of you.
Seems we both trusted ourselves;
two leaves barely grasping the Branch.
We, too weak to be our own help.
is there hope we're in His hands?
If I must endure, let me learn well;
a thorn in the side to prod me toward You
If it must burn make it a kind of hell,
relearning the false along with the True.
I know this lesson all too well:
I do well not trusting in me.
I've seen me win as well as fail
is there no hope where I can see?
Then there's the loss followed by gain,
I'll take that Hope that fits in my hand,
There's for this fool the wisest Name;
take love's rebuke and reprimand.
This blade much sharper, so much more clean;
I embrace the edge while loving its burn,
The Word the marker, yet much less mean.
I sing the dirge that I have learned.
The lesson of love, lesson of life,
I see in the Name remembering Hope.
for the born-above, it is Christ,
I am drawn in, so needfully close.
I'm in the dirt, ready to stand,
ready to rise by Your strength;
ready to heed the purest hand,
ready to take in Your holy breath.
The good that is done without the Name
falls so short, except of blame.
“”If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?” ~ 1 Peter 4:18
Even Christians often get jaded and forget they are only saved because of Christ as my personal account shows above. Our righteousness is positional, not actual, eventually (hopefully) practical and even then only because of the position Jesus places His own.
So if Christians are so "scarcely saved, what danger is there for those who do not have a saving faith in Him?
Heaven will only be exciting because no one there will be able to brag about how they got there.
We will be too busy thanking Jesus.
So what is the answer for both the saved and unsaved?
Only the wisest are the most trustingly, repentantly dependent on Jesus Christ alone.
