Preaching that the world will soon end is not popular today. Everyone hopes the current global problems we are facing will soon be over and things will get back to normal, with a brighter future. But will it be this way? If you believe the Bible, then you will find many similarities today with those days before the Earths first destruction by water during the time of Noah.

In Matthew 24:37, Jesus said, “As it was in the days of Noah (Noe), so shall it be before the coming of the Son of Man”. Why did God destroy the earth with a flood? Was it not because its inhabitants were full of corruption? In Genesis 6:11 we are told that: “the earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence”. Consequently God said to Noah: “the end of all flesh is come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the Earth. Genesis 6:13. Do we see a similar state on the earth today? 2 Timothy 3 says: “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the form of godliness but denying its power.” The later shows that there will be many who profess their Christian faith, but their actions will show their true nature.

The Environment. In our quest to increase wealth we are destroying the planet by systematic deforestation, building bigger and bigger buildings to show how great we are without God and in doing these things we are creating pollutants that affect the ozone layer by increasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. God says in Revelation 11;18 “He will destroy those who destroy the earth”. This time it will not be with water but with fire: (2 Peter 3:7).

Sexual Immorality: Jesus said “likewise also as it was in the days of Lot…even so shall it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed” Luke 17:28,30. Lot was the nephew of Abraham who chose to live in the city of Sodom. In doing this, he placed himself and his family in harms way. Some of his children married Sodamites and this caused him and his wife great anguish because his new in-laws did not fear God.
Lot was visited by the Angels who were sent to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorra because of their sexually immoral practices. The Angels at first came to Abraham who had questioned them not to destroy the city if they could find but ten righteous people, which they promised to do. However, after going through the cities, they could not even find one righteous person to save, except the family of Lot.
The people of these cities had given themselves over to all sorts of perverted and immoral acts. Fornication (sex outside of marriage) was common place. “going after strange flesh” (homosexuality and bestiality) were the primary sins of these ancient cities, consequently we are told in the Bible that these cities were “put forward as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” Jude 7. It should be noted that it is the effects of the fire that are eternal and not a continuous burning of fire forever. Are we close to carrying out to the same degree, the sins of these cities?

Fear for the Future. The crisis in Europe, the instability of the Euro, austerity measures, there doesn’t seem to be an end to the world’s problems. Some who have lost hope have ended their life. Jesus said: “And there shall be signs in the Sun and in the Moon and in the Stars; and upon the Earth, distress among nations, with perplexity: the sea and the waves roaring (Tsunamies?), men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things that are coming upon the earth” Luke 21:25, 26. Are you stressed? Are you suffering ill health because of your fears? Everywhere there seems to be confusion. People are dying from the number one killer – heart disease. Jesus saw this coming when he predicted global distress and fear causing means hearts to fail.

An Increase in Knowledge. Before the Earth entered its end time period, the prophet Daniel predicted there would be an increase in knowledge. When Daniel was told by the angel Gabriel to “shut up the words and seal the book, even to the time of the end: he recorded that “many shall run to and fro (an increase in worldly travel), and knowledge shall increase. Dan 12:4. Never before in the known recorded history of mankind have we had such knowledge of the world, the universe, medicine, machinery etc. This knowledge increase also applies to the understanding of the written Word of God. The Bible, particularly the prophetic writings for future events not yet fulfilled, are now being understood in the light of past prophecy fulfilment.

False Religious Teaching. A sure sign that we are in the final time period of Earth’s history, is the rise of many different religious denominations, all believing they preach the truth. This diversity of religion was seen by Paul when he predicted: “the time will come, when the majority will turn their ears away from the truth and will turn to fables 2 Timothy 4:4. The book of Revelation calls this confusion of faiths, “Babylon”. God’s end time message is to let everyone know that they have to come out of this confused system: “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made the nations drink of the wine of wrath of her fornication” Revelation 14:8. What does this mean? Wine in prophecy refers to teachings or doctrines, so this system is preaching false and deceptive teachings to “all nations”. These teachings are man centred and not the simple, pure gospel of Jesus Christ. “And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men”. Matthew 15:9; Titus 1:14; Colossians 2:18-22; Isaiah 29:13.

Preaching of the Everlasting Gospel. Today we have a great choice of Bibles but there is a strong movement to ensure the Protestant movement for which millions died, is long forgotten. Many new publications have been corrupted from the original ‘Textus Receptus’ or Received Text on which the King James Version is based. These corrupt Alexandrian texts – also called the “Egyptian or Hesychian type text, found their way into Emperor Constantine’s bible – via Origen and Eusebuis, one of which was the Vatican manuscript and another of which was the Sinai manuscript, but they were rejected by the Christians of that day. However, after hundreds of years they eventually were revived via the “Westcott and Hort Greek Text and finally
found their way into new Bible versions. So if you have a ‘new’ modern Bible, make sure you have a copy of the King James version to compare with because these so called “older” manuscripts are corrupted pagan and gnostic in origin and place Jesus Christ lower than His real position as a member of the Trinity The Reformers, such as Luther, Huss, Tyndale and others gave up their lives to bring us the gospel in its purest form, exposing doctrinal errors being preached from the pulpit of the established Church. God does not change as man does. His “Everlasting Gospel” will be preached to the whole world, then the end will come. This is His last warning to mankind: “Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation, tribe and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgement has come; and worship Him who made the heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water, (notice this message is a firm rebuke against evolutionists). And another angel followed saying “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Revelation 14:3-6.
Here is the patience of the saints, here are those who keep the Commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12.

The second coming of Jesus is almost upon us. Will you be ready for it?
