I came upon an amazing website that addresses the toughest hill most Christians must climb. No, it isn’t about being what we like to think of as good, or faithful or even servants in the name of the Lord within our church communities. The hill is called evangelism, and it scares the pants off even the most stalwart among the faithful.
“Tell people about Jesus? Well, you know, I just, well I want to, but… I never seem to have the right words!”
It’s easy to say we go to church every Sunday; it’s harder to talk about why.
I’ve been a Christian most of my life. Up until now I’d never heard of The Pocket Testament League, which has been around for more than 100 years. Thanks to technology it’s now accessible to more people than ever. So when the question, “What is evangelism?” comes up, I have a tool to share.
This awesome site is attractive, easy to navigate, and free to join. As a member you can be a practicing participating evangelist in no time at all, and they even provide you with pocket gospels you can hand out to people in need of encouragement or hope. There is a minimum donation requested, but if you can’t afford it don’t be discouraged. Check out information about sponsorships.
There are many opportunities on the site for you to interact with the TPTL community. You can share through stories and prayer requests, become a sponsor, and join the Impact Club, a means by which you can expand your ministry and outreach.
In the free evangelism training you receive seven e-mailed training sessions, which you can do based on your schedule. The sessions include Bible references, a story from a league member and tasks for you to complete. There are also free daily devotionals you can subscribe to, and use in your spiritual development.
These are a few samples of the variety of ways members of The Pocket Testament League can learn from and interact with other Christians whose faith statement mirrors that of this historically effective ministry.
If you are seeking new ways to reach out to others and to add to your evangelism toolbox, become a member of this exciting and interactive faith-based website. Learning about how to make evangelism a part of your life is a small hill to climb compared to the one Jesus climbed on our behalf.
