1John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us, that we should be called the sons of God.
Have you ever been awestruck that you are in the family of God? It is a FACT. Some versions add "and so we are" after 'sons of God'.
Or is it something that has not yet touched your spirit?
If we had a normal (and no way do I mean 'perfect') family, we probably remember how nice it was to be part of our family.
Just to be part of mum and dad, and together with our siblings.
We probably never analyzed it, or even been very conscious of it.
Perhaps, sadly, we remember it only because we remember that feeling going after a trauma in the family, such as a separation or divorce.
But have you had that feeling of being part of the family with God? Resting secure in His love?
This love of God, that brings us into the family of God, is something that is eternal.
That sense of belonging, of being part of something holy, of knowing that it is an estate that belongs to you, that you never earned it, or can ever repay it, and that God does not even ask you to be worthy of it,is an absolutely wonderful feeling - and it will last forever.
Behold it! Behold how wonderful it is to be a child of God!
We are accepted in the beloved(Ephesians 1:16).
They tell us to go by faith, not by feelings. I know why people often say that, but it is so often bad and misleading counsel.
What God has given us we are meant to feel. The Holy Spirit reveals them to us to our Spirit.
God the Father wants us to feel loved, accepted and a part of that wonderful family that is His.
To be in that wondrful family where He is Father, the Lord Jesus is our elder brother and Saviour, and the Holy Spirit makes it all known to us and makes us complete in Him.
Is your spirit resounding yet to the Holy Spirit in your heart crying 'Abba,Father'?
Rest, assured in that wonderful love of the Father.
