The Trinity Doctrine

This is another one of the topics that is very misunderstood in today's churches. Just about all things that are taken out of their context become that way. Yet, when truth is presented showing the errors men they resist it, even when it is from the Bible they may be using. Many however, do not STUDY their Bibles.

We do not proclaim to have all the answers; what we have learned however we are willing to share for those who “have ears to hear.” All understanding comes from the Spirit of God and not from men, including us. Even when we desire to help others it is up to the others to do their own praying and study to come to the spiritual truth .

2Ti 2:14-16 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

1Co 2:12-13 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Here we have all that is needed to keep us on the correct path to understanding; of course this also requires prayer. One must not make an assumption when it comes to rightly dividing the Scriptures.

From an excerpt of a Gnostic writing we have: God is one thing and His nature another and religion a third. The first part we are in agreement with; God is ONE . Indeed the existence of God is within the grasp of Man; what God truly is according to Scripture is spirit.

Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Here then is truly the mystery; what is spirit ? Spirit is used in Scriptures as breath, a life giving power, a mist and a ghost. This however this does not tell us what God's Spirit really is; for God can not be compared to earthly things. We prefer to think of Spirit as the power of God. We say God, but the Moslem's say Allah; either is correct from man's limited knowledge . We will not enter into all the titles that are used for Him in the Bible, for they are many and would be subject of it's own.

He continues: The dogma of the trinity, in fact, is a part of what Christians believe to be revealed truth.

What ones who call themselves Christians think has nothing to do with the truth; “What is truth”, Jesus was asked. Truth is God's word, and not mans.

“Human understanding of this mystery is impossible even aided by the light of glory” !

Now there is a vast different between a mystery and a secret. The translation of the verse where Paul says, behold, I show you a mystery, is a bad translation; for a mystery is a mystery: Paul however revealed a secret that had been hidden in Christ and was then being revealed by Paul. Secrets can be understood and revealed. That secret was that all that follow after the teachings of Christ Jesus will come to have spiritual life eternal.
I am not one of the great Christian theologians, I am however, through much prayer and study, able to understand this subject.

Then: ” God is said to have one nature but three persons”.
Where does it say that, or, who said that ?

The brother Moslem's have it correct when they say God is oneness. Here is where we introduce our finding from the study of this subject. This has taken me over 50 years of study and prayer to finally come to understand what God has told the ones seeking Him. Is what we now present truth without error ? Absolutely not, for men do error, else they would be God. However, error can be very limited to those who seek the truth as looking for a treasure.

We ask, can 1 be divided by 1 and turned into three ? No, in no way, Why then can one make the statement that they like to think of God as 3 being 1 ? 1/3 = .333333 . This is interesting, for the number 1 is infinite !

Essence was said to be love; is the essence of a bear love ? God indeed is love, but a love beyond our understanding. I once said to a Pastor, I can not understand God's love. He replied, why not ? Ha !

Then the statement is made : I suppose that it is possible for only one person to exist within the Godhead with love as its essence- a type of ultimate narcissism love. I am not sure what that means.

Now let us stop here and present our view on this subject. This view is based on what I said above, much prayer, years of study, and following the directions for the answers.

First, we present the argument used by the Christians of today about God.

Joh 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

These are verses that are used all the time in today's Christianity to show Jesus is God. It is a convenient to use these verses to stretch the truth ! Why do we say that ? Let us look at some other verses while keeping this one in mind.

If Jesus is God, then why these verses which say the opposite ?

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Can there be any doubt that He came from out of His Father and was not Himself the Father ? To further understand this we must go deeper . Let us introduce a verse from Revelation .

Rev 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

Here we have seven spirits before His throne, not One. Obviously we must ask what these Spirits are .

Rev 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
Zec 4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
Now here is a real shocker for the average reader. There are many writings that exist, that have not been put into the present day Bible. The King James version is exactly that, the King James version which King James had written to his liking ! They could not put anything into it that would have made him look bad, hence, the King James version. The parts used were taken from the Geneva Study Bible; the first transaltion.
The Catholic Bible has more books in it than the King James; seven more. Who was King James against ? There are also many other writings known as the Gnostic writings which are ignored or rejected by today's Christians. In fact, many do not even know of these writing . Then too there is the Quran which is for the most part, rejected by Christianity. Dose not ONE GOD control all things.
The point here is this, there are many places to get many answers to questions other than in today's present Bibles. Notice we said, Bibles. For there are so many translations that it is hard to keep up with them. Why do you suppose that is ? If the Bible is the error free book that it is claimed to be then how can there be so many translations ? What promotes error ? Translations.
Then it is said: “The Holy Spirit does not proceed, as it were, from the will of the Father from all eternity and is the love gift of His only begotten Son”.
Where then does it proceed from. These thoughts are largely a recapitulation of the traditional view of the Trinity with God the Father acting as the originating principal. It says that the Holy Spirit is begotten from His intellect and the Holy Spirit proceeds from His will. The problem here is this; there is mentioned in the Scriptures, in the book of Revelation, that there are seven spirits at the throne . So to center any argument on the One Spirit, the one called the Holy Spirit, is incorrect; or else the seven given in Revelation is in error !
This then begs the question of, what are these seven spirits ? From Zec 4:10 we read of the seven eyes of God . These are the seven spirits of Revelation that overlook all things happening on Earth . What then are these seven by name ? From a writing that very few have bothered to read, and would most likely reject, is a book called, -The Book of Urantia-, in it we have the following given.
1- The Universal Father – infinite The First source and center
2- The Eternal Son The Second source and center
3- The infinite Spirit The Third source and center
4- The Father and The Son The isle of Paradise
5- The Father and The Spirit The Deity Absolute
6- The Son and the Spirit The Universal Absolute
7- The Father Son and Spirit The unqualified Absolute
Rev 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
The word amen has the meaning of, in truth. We have here there, again, the truth speaking.
The next statement we look at is this :
“A serious problem, however, arises from the view that the Father gives His entire essence to His Son”.
If the seven spirits include the Son and the Father (Elohim) as being seated together, and the Son being the first of His creation, why is this a problem ?
Joh_17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had thee before the world was.
A very common problem with today's Christianity is that of making Jesus, God. If we rightly divide the Scripture we find that Jesus tells us He is not God the Father but rather His Son. This son ship is not the same as we think of it however, in human terms. We have shown that the One who was to become Jesus Christ was with the Father in the beginning of this creation; He was the first One created by Elohim. He was the One sent by Elohim to finish His work with the physical Israel. Let us look at an event that happened the morning following Jesus resurrection.
Joh 20:16-17 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Now consider this statement in Hebrews .
Heb 1:8-9 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
One must consider this verse closely. First, God is talking to His Son, Jesus Christ. Then He tells Him because He has kept the path of righteousness and hated iniquity He is making Him a God. Next, he says, above your fellows. The question arises here of, who are these fellows He is made to be God over ? Remember the 7 Spirits ? This is why He was to set down at the RIGHT HAND of Elohim. Jesus was made not only the God over His fellows but the God over Israel; that is, the New Israel that is to yet come at the end of this seventh day. The right hand is the place of honor.
There is also more to Him being a God.
Rom 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
To be sure there is more that could be said, however, it is prayed that this may be of a help to many who are confused over the trinity issue.
We thank The Father for His gracious gift of understanding of His word, and that He will bless the ones truly seeking to know Him better.
